Maybe Subaru was planning upon many young BRZ owners having an addition or two to the family and then trading up to a a four-door sedan or cute yute after the wife complains about the difficulty of strappin' the young'ns in.

Bought mine yesterday. My dad sat in the back because he thought the seats were laughable. He was able to sit in them (he's 5'11), except his head kept hitting the rear glass and his feet were buried under the passenger seat. I was able to get in the passenger seat and sit comfortably (I'm 5'10).
My suggestion is to not have any decent sized human being back there for a trip longer than 15 minutes, or you're just an asshole for making them sit back there. |

Coming from a 350z, I REALLY appreciate the rear seats for the single fact that you can use it as storage space...and it it actually useful for seating somebody for small trips.
But why whine that a small car has small seats? This isn't a Galaxy 500 LOL |

I have a toddler and a baby on the way. My wife ownes a CR-V that takes care of all the family trips, and hauling around. The only reason I NEED the backseat, is incase she was ever out and I had to rush the little one to a hospital or something urgent. If I really didn't care, I would have bought an S2000 a long while ago.

![]() They fit, but I wouldn't say they were super comfy. Do I win the award for fitting the tallest person in the back??

I'm 6'1" and have my seat essentially up against the rear seat to be in my optimal position. I could slide up for a dire situation to fit a small person behind me, but not on any regular basis. My wife is only 5'4", and a small adult or child could ride back there fairly comfortably. I have tried to sit in the back (out of curiosity), and couldn’t sit upright because my head was against the rear window, by quite a bit. I’d say it’s no place for anyone over maybe 5’10”?
I'd summarize it this way, for reasonably comfortable seating; 2 small adults plus two children, OK. 1 larger adult and 1 small adult plus 1 child, OK. 2 large adults, no children, OK. In general, I can't imagine having a family and a FRS/BRZ as the primary family vehicle. As a second vehicle for a family, perfect! |

I'm 5'8". Have driven with my wife 5'2" or my daughter 5'4" as passenger, with son 5 ys old in booster behind.
Not comfortablle for a drive down to Florida or anything but it's ok for around town if it enables me to drive with both my kids in the car. Without the vestigal back seat, I am sure quite a few people including myself probably wouldn't have purchased this car. It was a smart decision.

Oh yeah, back seats. They're worthless but just like the eclipse and integra and prelude coupe. Ironically, the Civic coupe at the back has a shit-ton of room. Go figure. |

Managed to fit both my parents and their luggage on a trip to the airport. It wasn't easy but we managed to make it work. They do come in handy.
