Wheel/Tire choice once again no creativity and don't look great considering the modified chassis. Also, the car is sitting really high in the air (yes, I know it's a drift car but even still it looks ridiculous)

600whp with a big single 2JZ - not even remotely impressive. My roomate has one of these in his Supra making more power with far less money thrown at it. What would have been impressive is if the builder would have built up the STOCK motor and boosted it to 600whp. Seeing a 2JZ do it - meh, I've made more power in my old turbo Civic.

I do, however, appreciate that he is attempting to build this car to enter drifting backwards - that's always a crazy sight to see.
He doesn't need to make 1200whp for what he is doing. And I can make 600whp on the cheap too, but if you want killer response and top notch fine tuning, you gotta pony up.

I think this build is awesome. I just want MORE PICS!!!!!

And good luck with this.

Crazy build. I do want to see how the new engine swap looks under the hood like the others have said.

I never once mentioned a need for more power. I guess I am more impressed with ingenuity than the same ole' 2JZ + Big Single. Everyone and their mother has dropped that setup into everything - but how many FA20's do you see in drift cars making 600hp? That was the point I was attempting to make..

I come from the Honda world. I could easily throw a J35(3.5L V6) into my Civic and make 400 n/a horsepower OR I could spend some money on the latest in technology and turn my 2.4L 4cyl into a 2.7L and make 400 n/a. In the Honda world the latter is 100x's more impressive due to displacement. I would have thought that same sentiment would hold true for these little 4cyl Toyota engines.

And given that this was built with A-rabbbb Money (say it with Busta Rhymes voice lol) I would have expected a crazy amount of money thrown into R&D for this project but clearly this is not the case. Seriously with the level of development and money over there they should have put a v12 in an FRS already! Ok maybe not that hardcore but these are the people who are famous for leaving Ferrari's on the side of the road when they run out of gas(Internet told me so - don't hate).

Level of development in the UAE? You are looking at it with this 86. All the "development" is coming from European, American and Russian tuners. I havent seen anything jaw-dropping there that wasnt built or tuned here.

i'd rather see a 2JZ in there than an LSx.

If you want a pretty fuss free drift setup with easy, big power and decent reliability then a 2JZ is hard to argue with.

That Ahmed Al Ameri's previous drift car (silver Soarer) in which he made his name amd won his championshios also has a 2JZ in, which might have swayed things a bit. Dude loves his 2JZs.

2JZs are also pretty abundant and cheap here in the UAE.

When there's rock solid 500hp+ FA20 packages out there no doubt it'll be worth a look. When you're building a competition drift car it's a bit of a risk to be pioneering stuff in the motor department.

I gotcha. The thing is though, even though these guys have so much paper to throw down, it doesn't mean that they can invest it into R&D for making parts. They don't have the time for that, and you can't use a competition car as a testing vehicle. If something goes wrong, then you're out for a few races or even a season.

I'm sure in a few years, when we have FA20 Stroker kits, etc, you will see more people building the original motors.

But at this point, for building a drift car to compete in the next season, a 2JZ is actually pretty "original" compared to the EJ25 swaps, lol...
