You are embarrassed that. $100k SportUV was faster than your Japanese econobox?

You aren't driving a fast car, you are driving a fun car. If you expect the former, be prepared for an ownership marked by disappointment.

.
yes. and we are not driving econoboxes. this is a sports car, a 6,000 lb suv should just not be in the same league on a race track. and yes, i'm fully aware this is not a "fast" car.

This is an econobox despite what you might think. This car is on the absolute bottom of the spectrum of price for sports cars, you think they are taking a huge loss on making it for your sake?

I'm going to guess this is your first venture into something mildly sporty. Your grounding as to what cars are capable of seems quite off.

so you're saying the frs falls into the same catagory as the nissan sentra, toyota carolla, dodge neon, chevy cavalier, etc? just because it is an afordable sports car does not make it an econobox.

for a car thats being reviewed against elise's, 370Z's, and porsche cayman's all i'm saying is it seems wrong to see a gigantic SUV beating it around the track.

Well, I'm kind of stumped as to how the hell that happened
I guess horsepower and tires make a big difference in this case

It's easy to shave seconds off of straight line times. If you can shave tenths of seconds in your cornering then you are doing really really well. The SUV has a HUGE engine that it can get a few seconds ahead of the 86 in the straights, then the 86 makes it up in the corners, but it can't make up the gap the big guys create in the straights. Makes sense to me.

That seems like a good group of hosts, is Top Gear USA officially the worst version of Top Gear in the world?

5Zigen has wheels that look like an upgrade to those 16" OEM wheels and I believe were designed specifically for the twins following a similar style. From another thread...

What amazes me is that the FR-S does quite well, but with obvious disadvantages. Mainly HP/Tq and tires. Improve those 2 areas minimally not to overpower the chassis ..... and watch out 2 ton suv.

I believe you have not driven any Range Rover, or even MDX. They handle pretty darn good for big a** SUVs. Sh-AWD in MDX makes it feel like a smaller SUV in the corner. I've not driven RR sport supercharge, but RR sport is nimble. Its off-road capability is one of the best out there.

This video makes me want to go out and take drifting lessons or at least take (someone else's) 86 out on a fast track and spin it around corners!

It's amazing how flat it is with Korean Stig kicking it around the corners on the hot lap.

We are talking within the margin of error here on the lap. Different days, different conditions, blah, blah, blah. Frankly it doesn't both me at all. I know which one I'd rather be driving, and it ain't the SUV.

Like they say, given enough thrust a rock will fly.

I'm getting tired of people complaining about the interior. Its that bad? Really? And the face this guy makes when he talks about the interior. Looks like he wants to puke. I for one loves the interior. It fits perfectly with the sportiness of this car.
