Yes
OP, please don't be a complacent beta plebeian about this, follow through with this and set an example so it sends out a clear message to other toyota/scion dealers.

I would contact the service manager first, then the general manager if you aren't satisfied with the way this is handled.
I too would like to know if it was Desert Toyota...since that's where I bought mine and have had mine in the shop 4 times now (fuel pump chirping, CEL/SCL ECU replacement a few days ago as well.)

Report it as soon as you can! I would be absolutely pissed if I found out some one was out hooning around in my car. Note to self...buy a dash cam.

On a side note, where was your dash cam placed? If it's anywhere visible to the driver, I wonder if the kid noticed it.

So back home, we disconnect the dashcam to see what happened. Basically what we find is a younger (20's) service tech redlining through the gears from streetlight to streetlight repeatedly - and theres 15-20 minutes worth of it.
What type of dashcam did you use? This pisses me off.

Why haven't you posted the video? If you post the video it's better coz the word will spread and more dealerships will be careful not to fuck with people's cars

Because he'll lose all his leverage.

If you're a dealership or a business-owner and you have a customer who wants to bad mouth you to future potential customers, you'll do almost anything to keep your good reputation intact.

OP, DON'T POST INFORMATION TO THE INTERNET JUST YET. FIND OUT WHAT COMPENSATION YOU CAN GET FIRST.

If it's not to his liking or they lag in terms of him getting his compensation then go ahead and tell the information.

Lol so your saying use the video to blackmail them? Either way when the video hits the dealership will do more to make them look even better.

Google the GM vs Camaro case, read what he did.

P.s: he posted the video it went viral and basically got him a new car.

As a Vegas resident getting ready to take his in for service, I'd REALLY like to know which dealership this was. Could you at least PM me where this took place?

Raise motherfucking hell.

This is NOT PROFESSIONAL ACTION by the dealer. Please make an example out of them so this type of behavior STOPS!

Also I'd try to get some sort of compensation. You do have ground for legal action, the precedent has been set already.

Also my car was in for service this past Saturday and the dealer went less than 2 miles.

This. I'm not saying they need a reason to get away with this stuff, but you'd think a dash cam is pretty easy to notice. If I was going to do something stupid with a car that belongs to someone else that had something like that sitting on the dash I would probably inspect it first and disconnect it. It's good for you that he left it on and gave you the evidence, but pretty stupid on his part.
