2. License for your ECU. One per ECU, $350. required to do every datalogging.

3. Tune - supplied bye a ECUtek professional tuner. Vary from $50-300.

You must have 2 and 3 to have ANY ECUtek tune. So if I bought this SC kit, I would only need #3. So saying you don't need the cable doesn't cover the important aspect of wanting the OE developed tune by then vendor rather than a start from scratch one done by a 3rd party. Another vendor offers their kit with just #3, the tune. I'm hoping Innovate would perhaps offer the same model as for some (and maybe its just few) of us it would work nicely.

EDIT: I wanted to add I'm a huge fan of this product. I'm trying not to be a pest, I promise you I say this honestly as a possible customer and perhaps part of a customer base of early adopters of tunes that might go this route.
All I'm saying is that whatever combination of those three someone has, I'm sure that Innovative will do what they can to satisfy them as a customer. I doubt they'd force you to buy another license or cable, or even the tune from them if you didn't want to. They want to sell their hardware. That's where the money is for them. I'd guess the majority of the tuning solution money goes to ECUTek, aside from the charge for the tune itself.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, unless you work for them would you mind letting them answer rather than assume. Its a $600 price point for some of us.

Agreed. I can borrow a cable from some local people and buy the license and get a custom tune from a shop here (likely the one that will do my install). Anything I can do to get this kit price down to ~$3k makes me happy.

I'm just speculating outloud here. No reason to get worked up over it. It's no different than those guessing at the price, performance, weight, etc etc of every other product on the forums. I'm throwing out what I feel would make the most business sense, in my opinion, if I were in Innovative's position. It's kind of what we do here on the internet in lieu of hard facts. The Innovative guys seem to be pretty responsive overall so I'm sure they'll correct anything I've misstated. It's not as if my comments have the ability to change what they're going to do, so your $600 comment is kind of moot.

And when I said own the cable, I was assuming someone who owned the cable would have a license. Kind of pointless to own it otherwise, as you have pointed out.

Cheers
Nathan

I guess I don't see much point in your speculating when the vendor is actively responding. We could just give them ample time to supply the response, I'm not dying to have it. Like I said, I understand you are trying to help but you simply can't if you can't my drift.

The point is that I like throwing ideas around about products for a car I really, really like, and maybe seeing all kinds of posts in their thread about this issue will lead Innovative to get back to us sooner. Maybe not.

At least we're talking about the product this thread is about instead of blathering on about the comparative advantages and disadvantages of different designs.

On the product, I think the incorporation of the A/W intercooler into the manifold is really neat, but I am curious to see if it handles heat soak well. The only thing I could see thermodynamically being a problem is if the amount of water used doesn't allow for the water to sufficiently cool off as it passes through the external heat exchanger under hard use and the water temperature climbs continuously to the point that it no longer functions well. if this doesn't happen, I don't see any disadvantage. It certainly simplifies and shortens the intake tract.

The complete kits will include a single license and cable with the canned tune for the version of the kit that you purchase. The "tuner" kits will not include the license and cable as previously mentioned. Do not expect pricing to scale down on the tuner kits based on the retail pricing of the ECUTEK cables, but they will have a lower MSRP then the complete kits. I hope this clears things up.

the bigger the heat exchanger the more efficient. i plan on running one double the size required to allow the water more cooling time.

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure the tuner kits included the tune itself.

Looking forward to some dynos. Looks like it could be a fairly painless install.

If you can't be constructive or be polite please don't post at all.

They will get to the tuning soon enough. They just revealed the kit last week.

Is anyone else concerned about the laminova leaking or is just me?

What kind of IATs are you seeing sans intercooler? If its under 140-160f it might be acceptable

Not me, seen it used lots without any issue. A/A IC's have a higher probability of leaking in my experience in high boost applications.

Given that the stage2 needs injectors means we could be talking over 280whp. At those kind of boost levels you'd need the intercooler, intake temps could be more like 2x what you just described.
