Interesting, the wording was bad then since it appeared they were making that kit as well. Guess I missed that post whoops.

15mm might work, someone would have to confirm. The lack of clearance is pretty significant. (I'm the one that measured it)

Thanks for being the test mule man, so what are you going to do keep them or return them?

EDIT; All information was available and I wasn't awake enough. Now to wait for my rims and see if these fit!

This is from post#12 at the beginning of this thread:

"We are also working with AP Racing to spec out a few other kits, from their Formula line of products. These will use painted calipers with dust boots, etc., and will contain a few enhancements that Essex has specifically requested. We're going to have a four piston front kit that will fit the OEM 17" wheels, a six piston front, and four piston rear. These will all be fully built in England at AP's facility, and they are using some cool new caliper designs. I'll post more pics and info on these setups as we move forward. These setups will be a little more expensive than the competition systems."

At this time we don't have any further info, but I promise I will update when we do. :happy0180:

Glad you and Bryan Berk connected, Jeff. Did you meet him at SEMA or only over the phone before the show?

Finally had a couple of hours to spend on the BRZ yesterday. My rears still look good, plenty of rear pad left

So for the front, I installed the Essex Spring kit, also removed the hubs and swapped lugstuds to ARP extended studs. Will post pics of the old front components in a few days, rotors weren't bad minus the delamination, pads were probably at 30% left but didn't look too bad, calipers weren't leaking, dust boots turn to dust if you touch them of course.

For all those 5x114.3 people I wonder if an STI hub has the same bolt pattern? If so it might swap over although usually bearings/hubs designed for a driveshaft don't last long without them...

dave what were your driving and bias/trail braking impressions under HARD/HOT cornering? I'm talking error correction near apex, does the tail fly out?

The car doesn't trail brake for shit, the stupid slip light just flashes instead and EBD tries it's best to prevent effective trail braking. Maybe running a more agressive rear pad will help, I'm only running Carbotech XP8s in the back right now. Someone else (matt? or pcasso? or CSG?) got the car to behave better for trail braking by running narrower rear tires, we do that to get rotation in the FWD race car too.

I've never had the tail fly out on this car (on the track anyways). I need to play with alignment eventually but I'll do that when I need to fine tune it.. right now it's pretty balanced and doesn't understeer or oversteer.

How did you replace wheel studs? Did you press them out or hammer them out?
