Just fingers. I pushed on the drivers side lower corner till it broke loose, then pushed the top of that corner out.

The pice that holds it in is three little plastc hooks on the top of the piece.

I think it may have something to do with the push button start being on the panel.

Anybody have any advice on how to get that panel out?
It was tough for me...what I did was went in through the passenger side and pushed the aux/usb port piece out by itself. It's separate from the main piece. Once that was out and unplugged, I could get a finger in there and it came right out.

I finally got mine installed today. Popping out the USB/AUX piece really made it easy to get out the lower panel. After that, everything went smoothly. Thanks for the tips guys!!!!

Has anyone that has done this noticed that there is another silver trim piece that should be installed with the speaker grills also? It's a silver ring that goes between the grill and the actual door pad. Just curious. I've seen pictures of it in Nigel's thread about these parts

Ok. Looks like the install here doesn't use them. I'll have to try and locate them. I have all the other parts. Anyone have any idea who may sell them?

Yeah I just saw that. I hate to have to buy the grills again. Hopefully I can just buy the rings from him. I sent him a PM. I bought my set from Carson Toyota. I'm not sure Luis knows they exist. I'll call them tomorrow also and see if they can get them as well. I'm gonna wait to install my set till I have the rings

Thanks Trojan_SC for the DIY. Took me 2 hours, but finally got the center dash knee pads done (but not withouth some scratches though...).

hint of advice: have at least 2 to 3 flat head screwdrivers ready, especially a really thin profile one to be used on the USB/AUX panel... and scratches are inevitable with all the plying and pulling.
