I think this kit will come in around $6,000. The Vortech S2k kit is right at $6k as is the 350Z kit. Can't see them getting it below $5k.

Neither AVO or Innovate have the name recognition that Vortech does, so they will feel they can charge more. |

The Vortech looks nice but the power is really so so and ild be worried abouut the connection of the air box with engine movement.
I once thought hey just want about 50 Hp extra but that was short lived. The std engine output is approx the same as my 2 liter Toyota N/A Beams engine 200 flywheel power. Adding a small Rotrex gave me this 350 Rear wheel HP on a 4wd dyno. My up grade to a bigger Rotrex will give me even more. Final Dyno 246.1 KW's at the wheels. That just about double the oem figure

After reviewing everything i have done the biggest mistake was actually to use a small SC.
The advantage of a SC is its pointless adding a small one then wanting an upgrade. It just makes sense to add the biggest one, us the smallest pulley to get max PSI at red line and then dial in a Waste Gate and relieve the pressure where you want it based on engine mods. This will save you the re-buying cost of a SC and allow future upgrades. Doing all this work for a gain of 30-50 Hp just ain't worth it at all. The price on a big model SC to a smaller one is negligible |

On pump gas, I really do not think that it is safe to go much further for a peak number. However using the small pulley and wastegate to make more midrange/low end is good idea. The Vortech SC is actually pretty big, based off of the gains at low boost, and the slow impeller speeds as factory. Also, some just don't need the big power. I'm pretty happy with the stock car, even coming from something with crazy power/weight before. Just needs a bit more power. So an extra 80-90 hp will be great for a guy like me. I would definitely experiment with the pulley/wastegate though. It would be awesome to turn the gate up higher (or off) and run "high boost" on E85, with the press of a button. Could be used on track days, etc.. |
