I probably should have just kept it. Oh well. I am sure once I get a replacement i will forget about it lol.

I don't know if you noticed, but you could hear a lot more road noise/rocks/etc with the greddy in place, because the stock exhaust is so big and fills that back area up well, and the evo3 canisters do not.
Yeah, I might have to dynamat the trunk to add a little more sound insulation.

I was the one that bought it from XXSCAXX. I just got it installed yesterday and got a short sound clip without the silencers in.

I like it a lot. It's loud which I love, but I feel as though you can kind of control that to some extent. For instance cruising at a steady 3k rpms or whichever, the exhaust is quite. However the slightest bit of acceleration past that and this thing roars. I also see that it gets less louder above 5k as you all mentioned. I think that is also a good thing for driving on the highways so state troopers can't pick you off for it being too loud.

Sounds good man - I keep going back and forth between taking silencers out, putting them back in. LOL

I absolutely love the sound, I just hate the damned drone at 3-4K without the silencers. Do you not experience that?

What does the drone sound like? I don't think I've every experienced drone with my 2.5RS Impreza's Blitz exhaust, so I'm unfamiliar with how drone sounds. I did read that you all were talking about it and was wondering what it was.

It's basically a resonant frequency type of harmonic that reverberates inside the cabin. Either the exhaust itself, or components of the car are vibrating at a frequency that creates a mind-numbing experience. Some people are more sensitive to it than others, and I think your location within the vehicle also affects how much of it you receive.

It's really hard to describe how it "sounds", but if you have it, you'll know it. You feel it in your head. For a couple of us with the Evo3's without silencers installed, we noticed it starting at 3K RPM. For me it goes up to 4K or so. This range is prime highway cruising speed, so it can be pretty brutal on a long trip.

Driving around town is not so much a big deal since you can manage around it by use of throttle/shifting. Even if you don't try to manage it, you hit it for such a short time that it's no big deal. It's just when driving for prolonged periods of time at 3K-4K that I start to get a headache.

The volume itself is not an issue - like I said, I love the sound. I've driven next to, as well as in front of Suffolk County PD cruisers, and they never bothered me even during acceleration. SCPD are notorious here on Long Island for finding reasons to give you a ticket, so I consider that a pretty good test.

Ah gotcha, then I will say I do have the drone...but I like that! Maybe I'm weird or still haven't driven it long enough to where it annoys me yet, but I see what you are saying about it now. It's so loud in the cabin, that my Cusco spin turn knob on the ebrake rattles, lol.

even though i am without power/lights, hot water, in my dark basement after hurricane sandy.. what gives me hope is that my Greddy Evo3 is coming within a week courtesy of No Limit Motorsports (hopefully around 11-5-12).

I cannot wait to get this exhaust finally on my car.

I would love if anyone could post more pictures so i could have something to look at while at lunch at work (where we do have power & phones are very busy.. (as i work at major auto/home/life insurance company)

thank you kindly,

The exhaust is awesome... It can be a little loud in the cabin at times but i love it. Installing the silencers makes it so quiet... I am experiencing some minor rattling somewhere so i will be taking it in this week to check it out. You're going to love it!
