I'll take one...
TRD parts appeal to me for no other reason than to preserve my warranty. Yes, they are more spendy and more conservative from a design standpoint, but the extra cost is worth the peace of mind of knowing my ass is covered if something explodes. |

How much was the TC kit when it came out. The cars have similar MSRP so you would think pricing would be in line.

I agree, at $7k it really wouldn't be worth it, especially considering that the power gain will be relatively low. As someone in the FI forum thread said, 250 whp would be about perfect, but $7k for that is too steep. At a $3k-ish price point, however, shut up and take my money.

Also, the cars (tC1 vs FR-S) are by no means close in price point. The tC MSRP in 2006 was just over $16k (manual). FR-S MSRP is $25k (manual). |

OOPS on me. I thought TC's were around 19-21 which is what they are now, not then.

S/C for FR-S
WHICH TOTALLY MEANS ZOMG TURBO FOR DA BR-Z!111 OT: Interesting though, would like to know more details on the S/C! Also it's warranty cover if you go the $$ TRD Route, for those who care.

I have an 11 S4 with the 3.0 supercharged and ohhhhh gawd the torque. soooooooo wonderful
![]() I think 250 *crank* would be plenty for this car given it's weight, especially if the SC added nice low-end torque. -Rich H. |

![]() So the 4k would be $4500 in today'd dollars. If you add 37% to that it would be $6,165. Not sure if the "add 37%" thing makes any sense. |

If it were a linear scale, absolutely. Your number makes sense given the new tC is in the $19-20k range.

$7,000 for the TRD sounds about right putting the FR-S around $32k, and people said $25k for a scion was steep haha. For the sake of my wallet I hope I'm wrong
