Oh, ok. I'm sorry, I didn't know you knew more about me then I did.

Oh yea, btw, Hot Lava WAS my 1st choice, Firestorm was my 2nd. Didn't want to wait an extra month, so I went with Firestorm.

The fact that you believe your salesman is hilariousthanks for the laugh.

Firestorm seems to be the early "spec/demo car" (inventory/not special order) color Scion selected probably because they used it in their ads. That's why all the Firestorm 6ATs that were available early on.

Firestorm and Hot Lava were the "rare colors" in the 1st86 group, with white being the most common which surprised me. I figured the whole group would have been red, I guess my own personal bias showing (red=sports car, white=luxury car)

I read somewhere that hot lava might end up only being produced for this model year. Don't remember where I read that though. I hope that ends up being the case.

I don't know about the white=luxury, but red for sports car seemed to be the norm, I thought. Although, I had a different opinion as well because I had told myself I always wanted an orange sports cars. I think that mentality was orange=exotic, maybe. Either way, I got hot lava because I wanted an orange sports car and it seems pretty rare. I've only seen one in Ohio, none but mine in Kentucky. And it looks like mine is the only hot lava to come through my dealer.

I'm okay with this, I like be unique, so I'm more than happy to have my car color be rare.

Yeah, black or silver seems more luxury to me.

White says "full-size van with Al's Plumbing stenciled on the side", or a Ford Fusion with local government plates. Appliance/fleet vehicles.

For me, back in the day, luxury cars were Caddies, and they seemed to always be either white (personally owned) or black (limo). That has stuck with me.

Hot Lava was my second choice, and I still love it. I think if it been available though I would have gone with "Cool Lemon" or whatever they would have called Yellow.

Personally, Silver always screams "Fleet car" to me, although I know lots of folks love it, and it does look good on the 86. Also, it doesn't help that my 2001 Astro and now my 2004 Suburban are both Silver/Gray/Champagne.

I have no reason not to believe my sales person. He has been nothing but helpful and honest. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to bs people and even if he is there was no bsing needed to get me into the car so why waste the energy? Not all car sales people lie and cheat.
