There is no rare color.

From a glance of what's in Toronto.

Rare in terms of FR-S are:
- Fire Storm
- Ultra M
- Hot Lava

But they will be popular soon enough..

At the dealership, the hardest to find was firestorm and after was hot lava.

In the Northwest regional section of the forum we have a breakdown of models and colors of the registered users from the northwest.
Check it out here, should give you a good idea - NW Owners List w/Colors & Model
Hat tip to @DarrenDriven for doing that thread!

Yeah my hot lava should be here in the next week or so... My sales guy told me it was going to be pretty unique supposedly 1 of 12 hot lava manuals without bespoke and zero optional dealer extras destined for the us. Not sure how true that is but I can tell hot lava is less common.

Don't believe that B.S. I've seen 2 or 3 of those already in Oregon

Rare color with rare occurrence of it being a completely base vehicle with NO options? He could be telling the truth. 1 of 12 hot lava manuals with ZERO options? Yeah... rare.

The rarest FR-S color is WRB.

I don't think Toyota posts any report for dealers showing this. Also there are very few options available, having zero of the. 8 or so can't be that rare.

True in maybe a more common color. But not many people buy a base orange car.... Most people that want hot lava are probably going to opt for some options. Hot lava was my favorite color it just so happened that the next car with no extras being allocated to my dealer was going to be a hot lava. I just got lucky

How do you know what other people that are buying Hot Lava want?

Seriously, salesmen make stuff up to sell you the car. My salesman told me "these come with really good summer tires with lots of grip". I didn't even bother telling him that they chose these tires specifically because they don't have loads of grip. But I knew he was just trying to sell me the car (which was unnecessary, because I was going to get it regardless).

That is your sales guy. My sales guy told me this after he had already sold me a car. Once he found out the ones in surrounding dealers had been sold he told me I was being given this one. He didn't use it as a sales pitch. He just told me after the fact
Besides.... You have a firestorm obviously you're not in the hot lava mindset

I think it depends on your area, I had to wait several months to get my ultramarine. Seen the black and white one more often
