I for one am contemplating worth getting the fix or not. I do notice that the colder it gets, the less I hear the crickets. Plus it seems that it seems that it is a hit or miss.

Any So-Cal members take their BRZ in? If so, where? I'd like to take it in the first time with no issues.

Was just told my post-TSB chirping noise is "normal" and there was nothing more the dealership could do. Ugh. I'll post a video later tonight.

For what it's worth, I filled up at the local 76 station this week and haven't had chirping since.

I'm here right now.. I'll let you know if they fixed the problem. If you do bring it here plan on staying here about 3.5 hours when you take it in. I've been here since 10:30am and it's not 1:30pm and still haven't heard anything yet.

Hopefully it doesn't come back. The friggin cricket sound is so loud that it almost over shadows my ARK exhaust =(

Yea mine are back as well, although I've noticed it's not as often. I also noticed that it happens a lot after it rains.

In all those pages, has anyone explained what makes the noise? I read that it's the High Pressure pump..but that's not enough for me..is it the noise the pumps makes pumping gas or the cam turning it?

In the subaru TSB, it said that a plunger in the pump was aerating the gas due to being out of position. Not sure if that was the root cause, but its the best explanation so far.

Since I am going to be storing my baby for the winter, I think I will wait until spring before getting this serviced. Its not affecting the ability of the car to function, and the extra time will give toyota even more time to figure out what the heck is going on here.

Good to know. I use Shell, have never heard a chirp. I'll run a tank of 76 and see what happens.

I just got mine back last night and here is what was written on the work order for my car.

High pressure fuel pump and fuel delivery pipe#2 will need to be replaced to correct concern due to internal pump shaft making abnormal chirping noise due to excessive clearance in shaft bushings.
Replaced high pressure fuel pump and fuel delivery pipe #2 and related gasket.
