WHEELS. Light and big, oh my!

I'm having awful difficulty figuring out what lightweight wheels I can actually buy in Australia for a semi-reasonable price. All the places I contact won't get back to me as to what they do and don't sell it seems, and lots want me to call just for a rough estimate.

Wheelworx didn't even seem to know they sold Kosei.

Anybody know of any "well kept secret" wheels around these parts? Can we still get Hasemi? Anywhere else but Wheelworx sell Kosei? Any forums I should be looking at?

Really want to reduce wheel weight and increase size a little.

EDIT; Yeah I know this should go in technical, but it's really local knowledge, too...

This is personal opinion. Enkei RPF1s are the best value performance light weight wheels. That is the lightest per dollar. If you are after something with more bling then I don't have any suggestions. I would suggest getting in contact with 86Drift for the Enkeis. Tirerack and Vivid Racing also ship overseas with reasonable prices.

After nice, light weight. Found that Kosei K1 TS are super light, like a pound lighter per corner than the RPF1s. But, having given a receptionist specific sizes to work with, they just came back with "The (x) do not fit your car". .. yeah, because someone fitting the same brand in the same offset and size that I asked for means they don't fit.

Thanks, probably going to speak to Mr. Drift RE some RPF1s, because they're light, and look purposeful (my definition of bling!)

Kosei K4r are cheaper and lighter lol. He has the right idea though. Forum sellers are a good option, here and Nissan Sylvia dot com etc. Do you research, decide on a wheel and fitment then hunt prices.

I wouldn't hunt every last gram in your wheels though, you really won't be able to tell 7kg vs 7.5. And to get really low you will probably have to sacrifice looks, offset or both.

+1 for @86drift too. Josh is a good guy to deal with, and..
+4 for Enkei RPF1's. Nothing else states that you mean business than a set of RPF1's on the local track :P They are lightweight and very cheap so I doubt anyone will be afraid of kerbing/scratching them.

They come in 16x7 +35 offset ~6.5kg each, I wonder if they will fit GTS brakes(stockos mind)

I'm looking at upgrading later so I'm going for 17x8 @35, eyeballing the AP Racing and Stoptech kits currently (both should fit under those wheels). But yeah, I went looking for K4Rs and found them but the place that will sell me them will only sell me 17x7 +48 anything-- the K1 TS is lighter still but they won't let me pick an offset, they want me to just tell them what car and then they go "SORRY WON'T FIT LOL". AUGH. So yeah, it's probably RPF1s for me.

I've lived in this country for 13 years now and it still amazes me that some businesses here will actually turn away prospective customers like that. Kosei definitely make those wheels in 17x8 +35 so I'm not sure what their problem is. Weird.

Good luck in your search!

I can tell you exactly what! They think they know better than me and say they won't fit.

If they know that little about their product you wouldn't want to deal with them anyway.

They may not _have_ them which is a different thing from they won't fit.
