Internet message boards have brought the death of courtesy to society. One step closer to idiocracy.

I for one am excited to see some NA stuff being engineered. High revs and instant response should be pretty cool.

Okay, those of you who like the picture I'm obviously allowed to 'leak' (um..like..duh!)you're welcome. Pretty cool huh? I want! More power!

Why me?.. I drive my cars pretty hard on the track, happen to do testing for household named companies in real life in my career, and am also a FT86 enthusiast like you all.

As for the low blows my way, wow you all sound really jealous. Try and keep that in check, huh? Its a car forum. You have something on your mind send me a PM, k? I mean not to belittle anyone, but there are scientific reasons why one selects one oil over whats already in their car from the factory. I didnt 'try' Pentosin. I chose it. I'm not sure why someone would go 'try redline' etc. Testing is not trying stuff. Its a bit more of a science, but you know that.

Like you, each and every part I put on my car gets scrutinized, it doesnt go on cause its from Vendor X, it goes on only if I like the part, its design, fabrication etc.

I think its awesome that there is work being done on the valvetrain. Go Team Perrin! I have seen pics of forged pistions from other vendors. This could be a really fun motor!

Since I will be doing a Vortech SC setup on my car, seeing stuff like camshafts and HD valvetrain parts really gets me going...dunno about you. Cant wait to get this under my hood and onto the tarmac!
IMHO, the problem isn't hate, it's that most of your posts are ridiculous conjecture. You're showing parts that you're testing & telling people about your findings, but you've lost all trust. If you want people to believe you, you need to be credible. How you could go from where you are to being credible is beyond me.

At this point I honestly don't trust Perrin anymore either. If they're willing to let you test their parts, knowing that you post what you do, or even worse not knowing, then they have also lost all credibility.

I would love to see the results of a rebuilt valvetrain. But until I see those results from someone who has shown themselves to be trust worthy, I'll continue to be skeptical.

Exactly.

I honestly would feel I was getting a better test review if I went down to Pep Boys/Autozone and asked one of their "techs" what his thoughts were on BRZ tuning. Everything that I read from the OP makes me want to avoid anything to do with Perrin. Not good for them.

FT86Club Members,
I think our customer GEM has been a great customer for us as we have gotten lots of valuable info from him as well as opinions that have helped us greatly. We have used Gem to help us promote some products, as well as we have used many other customers. He just is one of the most vocal ones we have!

By no means do we want any negativity toward PERRIN to come from this thread or any others, where a customer of ours says anything to upset other people. Gem doesn't work for us, he doesn't get things for free, and we can't stop him from buying parts from us. It may appear that we have been giving him special treatment and not doing this for anyone else, but that is actually not the case. In the above case a customer (Gem) asked us about cams, and I happened to just take a bunch of pictures of the parts we got. He put up the picture. If anyone comes to us and we have the opportunity to promote an upcoming item, we do! Gem was the first one I talked to that asked about it.

We have a whole bunch of customers on our "tester" list and most of them were recruited because they asked us about a part we were about to come out with. It may appear that Gem has been our spokesperson over the last couple months, as we haven't been posting up much, but we have been swamped with tons of added business as well as a bunch of new parts in the works. Both these are great problems to have and to our customers will benefit from it as we didn't hurry things to market with out a bunch of testing.

I am sorry if we lost a few customers over Gem's postings. This may be too late to fix, but all we can do is continue to show you what we have up our sleeve and keep supporting this new car. I think that compared to other huge aftermarket companies, we can continue to provide better service, and react quicker to customer needs, which in turn makes for better parts for car!

If you have questions, comments, or just want to chat, I am always available!
Email me at jeff.perrin@perrinperformance.com or hit me up on the instant messenger on our site (Tech 2).
