it looks exactly the same... so either this mule was never the FT and was the next gen WRX all along, or its the FT testing something mundane like electronics, A/C, etc...

No way it's the next WRX, because this is a RWD mule--the distance from the front wheel arch to the firewall is a dead giveaway.
