I have no issue with this. I've tested parts for a lot of different companies over the past...well, how long doesn't really matter. Point is, he's testing parts and either gets a deal or for free. This is in exchange for risking his car and warranty and leaving his car in someones shop for weeks or more at a time. It's a reasonable tradeoff.

If he's excited about sharing the newest parts, then so be it. Can't fault him for that. It seemed like he was joking about the "don't talk" aspect and by sharing pics. Again, no harm no foul.

It seems that some of the issues that have appeared are due to jealousy. Well, suck it up. He called/made a deal with Perrin before you did. Find another comapny to test parts for. If I had my car a few months earlier, I'd be posting a ton of stuff like this too. I just haven't had the time to hunt for hook-ups.

If you no longer like a quality part from a quality company because someone on a forum touts their product...well I think the company is better off without you as a customer.

The reason I posted in his thread is because of his cocky, brown nosing, know it all attitude. He consistently criticizes others as if he's all knowing, and then posts this stuff as if he's going around his own vendors back.

I'm done posting in this thread, but if I were Perrin, I'd seriously start to reconsider who posts information about the company. It's not just customers on here, it's competitors.

Personally I'd rather hear it from Perrin. I like having reliable information right from the horses mouth. I'm not sure why they didn't just make this post themselves.

That said, this forum always seems to bitch about -everything-. Maybe it's just because it's a new car, and there is a lot of new info all the time?...not sure. I was on the MCS forums when they were first coming out and people just seemed more excited, and the community was much tighter.

Ugh, how come I can never learn anything about products on this forum anymore??? Some great news comes along, or a new product comes out, and the entire thread is full of whinny people! I wake up and come on the forums to see any new updates, and its just full of people talking down about other members, or how crappy a certain brand is, or telling the manufacturer how they should be running their business! This site is getting very old. And you think he's brown nosing? Go read the ass kisser's in Visconti's thread. Anyways, I don't mean to complain like the next guy, but this site has gone overboard in my opinion. I miss the S2000 forums were guys and gals all have the same interests in mind, and actually talk tech...

I have a feeling that the forums will evolve as the car ages. There aren't any standards when it comes to products yet, no one knows which is the 'best' of any given upgrade and there are people making new stuff every other week. I think in time we will see more of what many of us are used to on established forums.

Thanks for a sensible post.

Okay, those of you who like the picture I'm obviously allowed to 'leak' (um..like..duh!)you're welcome. Pretty cool huh? I want! More power!

Why me?.. I drive my cars pretty hard on the track, happen to do testing for household named companies in real life in my career, and am also a FT86 enthusiast like you all.

As for the low blows my way, wow you all sound really jealous. Try and keep that in check, huh? Its a car forum. You have something on your mind send me a PM, k? I mean not to belittle anyone, but there are scientific reasons why one selects one oil over whats already in their car from the factory. I didnt 'try' Pentosin. I chose it. I'm not sure why someone would go 'try redline' etc. Testing is not trying stuff. Its a bit more of a science, but you know that.

Like you, each and every part I put on my car gets scrutinized, it doesnt go on cause its from Vendor X, it goes on only if I like the part, its design, fabrication etc.

I think its awesome that there is work being done on the valvetrain. Go Team Perrin! I have seen pics of forged pistions from other vendors. This could be a really fun motor!

Since I will be doing a Vortech SC setup on my car, seeing stuff like camshafts and HD valvetrain parts really gets me going...dunno about you. Cant wait to get this under my hood and onto the tarmac!

I agree that calling you an ass kisser and some of the other stuff is over the top and uncalled for, but you do have to wonder why so many here have taken a disliking to you.

It's more than jealousy. The tone of your messages lead us to believe you're shameless and petulant. It's not just the whole Visconti thread, but many of your other posts (such as this one, The Perrin oil cooler thread, and the Vortech thread).

You may be one hell of a tester, but your delivery to the rest of the forum leaves a lot to be desired. It's funny you say take it to PM's, yet when you and I exchanged PM's a little while back, and you didn't get the response you wanted from me, you posted publicly. What one is it? Public or private?
