So, about 3 weeks after I had mine replaced, I had chirp for a few minutes yesterday. Got off a 5 minute freeway drive, pulled up to a driveway and opened the door, immediately heard the crickets. They lasted a solid 2-3 minutes before quieting down as the car was just idling. The weather here is really starting to cool down, so they'll probably be pretty sporadic until spring. Looks like it was not a definitive fix.

I just received my car last week that was built on 9/19/12 and it definitely has the crickets and I am only at about 250 miles so far...

1200 miles, start to hear it yesterday when park between cars and roll down window. It is embarrassing...like an old car. I only use Shell gas since day 1.

My Crickets came back after the TSB repair, the TECH said he talked to an engineer and they told him they didn't think the repair would help.

My car is in having it done right meow. I also told them about the passenger auto down window switch. I figure the more of us who complain the more of a chance we have at a fix.

Just got my FR-S back with the cricket fix - there was a $1,700 or so charge against the ticket that was zeroed out (under warranty). So far (20 miles later) the fix seems to be holding. From initial confirmation of diagnosis by dealer to repair was five days - one day to diagnose (while replacing a missing valet key), three days waiting for the part, and a half day on installation. My dealer only has the lead tech on their team working on FRS's, so his time is divided between supervising others and doing high end work himself.

Will post again if the problem re-emerges.

Mine is all done and "silence is golden". They are ordering another window switch for me and will swap it out when it comes in.

As a secondary note I found out that my dealer is mod friendly. The service guys were all excited about my mods and asked what I was doing next. I even talked to one guy who said they have installed an Isis exhaust and Greddy intake on some cars already.

I don't know if this is true or not... But I hear that during the summers, that is the only time gas stations use ethanol, then they switch to regular fuel for the winter season. I heard this from a guy that works for an oil company in WV. Anyone know about this? If so... If we were to get this fixed now... Wouldn't we not hear anything till next summer anyway? What are your thoughts? Any truth to this?

From what I heard on TV, they oxygenate the gas. Its due to the fact that there's more smogs during summer months. During the winters they go back to the normal blend.

Had my issue fixed via the TSB, crickets are back, though quieter and more intermittent.
