i still dont understand how my order (ordered 7th june White Man GTS) gets pushed back to a december production date while others who have ordered the same thing but in late june get a november production.

would anyone with any info be able to give some insight? i trust my dealer but im starting to smell something fishy and not really happy about having to wait til next year.

White is the most popular is the only thing I can think of.

Maybe they should ordered before you? I'm not sure anyone really knows the allocation process...whether it depends on the amount of orders a dealer gets, or if it's just a line of who ordered first.

And what are you doing about that?

If you really wanted one, its not hard to ring around a few rural dealers. You'll find an unallocated one faster than it took you to type up this rant

Heck, you might even find one that isn't marked up by a bajillion dollars.

Good luck

It's all about 'Dealer Allocations' and nothing really about when you ordered, Toyota won;t come out and say this BUT, if you ordered thru a Dealer with quite a few orders they will take a while whereas if you ordered thru a Dealer with NO current orders, then you would appear to be getting it quicker - it sux!! 300 or so Dealers and 250 cars come in, then 'one for you and one for you ....', and so on to the Dealers. One of the larger QLD Dealers was getting NO cars for October, so go figure that one!! Another guy [see earlier post] ordered September and he will have his car I believe by December, NOT his faukt but he ordered thru a Dealer with no current orders, or may have been just the one

Let's see what happens with these additonal 1500 cars, surely Toyota can match what arrives with orders that have been placed in their order of receipt, or is that too much to expect from the bl**dy 'SAP' computer system?

Hang in there, there's a few of us paddling the same boat!

Hah yeah I don't really want one
Have called many dealers. Mostly orange. I'd rather walk.

I kept saying things to this effect, and everyone kept defending the system, a couple months ago.

The allocation system is terrible and really should be scrapped. It doesn't work for popular cars (didn't work for FJ, isn't working for 86). Allocating cars dealer by dealer by dealer and hoping they match up to orders is bloody stupid and results in people waiting unnecessarily, cancelled orders and bad press.

Some people have said "BUT THEN COUNTRY DEALERSHIPS WOULD MISS OUT AND CITY DEALERSHIPS WOULD GET MORE". No, people who ordered would get their damn cars and not be forced to wait out round after round because of some stupid, arbitrarily patterned BS. I'd have my car already, and so would anybody else who ordered in June.

TMCA; Hope you're reading this, guys-- When someone orders something, they want it more than some ****head who wanders in off the street and spots one. The way unallocated cars that match orders going unfilled at other dealerships are getting delivered at random is hurtful and totally unnecessary.

Scrap your goddamned enthusiast-biting Soviet style allocation system or risk losing my business. I'm waiting this one out. Don't expect me to wait out the next.

PS; Proficience, sometimes people don't want to pay more for something they've already ordered and put money down on than they absolutely need to. This is one of those times. Don't accuse someone of "not wanting" something. Protip; Rural areas have enthusiasts too.
