I thought I was very consistent with using my blinker until my current "learning to drive" son decided he needed to point out to me when I wasn't using it.
Now I'm much better. Nothing like getting a refresher driver course from your 15-year old. Speaking of blinkers, last time I rented a car it had the "lane change, 3 blink" flasher in it. Drove me nuts! Took me forever to figure out why the blinker didn't stop when I let go of it.

Turn signal? Of course not, that's like giving away information to the enemy!!
The time when it bothers me most is when people slow down for a turn, almost to the point of stopping, and THEN throw it on at the last second. Thanks genius, I figured it out already that you were going to turn.

I love blinkers. I use them all the time and frequently give people an excessive warning before I turn.

I see in your retirement years you will be one of those who is obviously going around the world to the left because your blinker is always on....

I use blinkers like it's second nature. Always been helpful for me just because I've been in countless situations when some1 was close to my rear and if I didn't use my signals they'd probably rear ended me. Just be cautious.

The average American driver just sucks, period. Yes, I'm born & raised right here in the USA, so I'm talking about my fellow Americans. It's sad but true. Lots of people don't use turn signals, have no concept of lane discipline (pass on the left already, damn it!), and drive around with their cell phones either glued to their heads or in the lap while texting.
Has anyone ever driven in Germany? I have and I'll tell you that they are much better drivers. They have great lane discipline. They signal turns and lane changes. They do not pass on the right. They just taking driving seriously in general. Of course there are always exceptions to every rule, but I'm just generalizing. I wish American drivers had a clue on how they should drive. |

I am guilty of passing on the right sometimes, but that is only when there is a jackass in front of me that thinks they own the left lane. |
