I just picked up my 6MT Whiteout FR-S last night! I haven't really had a chance to drive it much yet, but I can tell already that I am going to love it! My only gripe is the drivers side blind spot though... I think I will have to get a little stick on mirror for the drivers side mirror.

Soon the mods begin... The list of parts I have waiting in my living room consist of:
-Beatsonic Sharkfin antenna
-HID's
-LED Lighting all around
-Alpine Head unit
-Alpine 5 channel amp
-Polk Momo speakers all around (6.5" components for the front, 6.5" coaxials for the rear)
-Clear JDM side markers
-Ark Grip Exhaust

(once I receive it)
-Michelin X-Ice XI2 snow tires
-More I can't think of...

Welcome! I passed 1000 miles of break-in a couple of weeks ago so I remember those days. Especially on a modest horsepower NA car, it's hard keeping the RPMs below 4000. But now it's a blast ripping up and down the RPMs, so something to look forward to!

230 miles to go for me, and then an immediate fluid change for the engine, tranny, and diff. I can't wait to get away from the 4k limit.

Also, don't forget to set the cluster RPM warning for 4k, makes your life much easier.

Congrats!

I auto crossed mine at 200 miles. These cars are ripped to redline before they leave the factory. I then changed all my fluids at 1000 miles. Now at 4000, I haven't had a single one of some of the issues. I did some reading and a lot of Subaru owners beat on theirs the first 1000 miles, because then all seals are getting a better seal due to the engine working harder, I just made sure I changed the fluids at 1000 miles to ensure the motor was clear of any debris, and it was! Not recommending holding the car at redline everytime you drive it, but it's not necessarly bad to have a little fun with it within the first 1000 miles.

I have my mirrors set-up so that it is very small. I kinda lean forward to check if I've got another car there.

Congrats on the new car!! It's the hardest 1k you'll ever drive but you'll be glad that you did it the right way.

You quote something that appears posted on a Subaru forum but it doesn't say who posted it. I doubt it was posted by Subaru since their recommendations for break-in in the owners manual is so different.
