Seriously! It's kinda sad. People are going to read JUST the first post and take it as definitive. Sure Injen *CAN* make considerable power on a stock tune... you just gotta drive around with your hood removed and hope you don't run lean.

But in REAL world use. I don't see it making much. After seeing my temperature results on my AIRAID testing, I can only imagine how much HOTTER the Injen will run....

I'll be putting my car on the dyno tonight to do a pre/post injen intake install. Will make sure to do open-hood and closed-hood pulls

Anything else you guys have in mind? Have a total of 6 pulls, and this is what I had in mind:
2 stock pulls in 4th

Disconnect battery
Install injen intake
2 open hood pulls
2 closed hood pulls

Stay tuned for results

AWESOME!

Make sure you let the car idle for a few minutes with the hood closed before the closed hood runs. You can leave a fan blowing on the radiator to simulate light driving.

You're on a stock tune correct? If you have an ECUTek cable could you log the runs?

Yes, I'm stock. And sorry, no EcuTek cable

Ok, will let it idle with hood closed and the fans will be pointed at the front grill

you should have disconnected the battery before the two stock pulls, to eliminate eliminate hte varience of the increased power from reseting the ECU.

It's hard to say since the Injen intake seems to be the biggest hit or miss for people from what I've read here on the forums. I won't profess to be able to debunk this but let me ask a few more questions :

1) Are you running much leaner? Do we know for sure? Are you getting way better fuel economy since most of what we do in cruise is under 3k RPM, did you mileage go up significantly? Quantifying how much leaner would be helpful as well. ( i Haven't put a wideband on the car, but i could i still have mine laying around from my skyline, this would tell us how lean i run. The fact i said i am running leaner, is hypothetic. As for Fuel economy, i am tracking the car at least once a week, and i never really look for that, still because coming from old japanese turbo car, if you start looking you will be very disapointed.)

2) I assume the rest of car is OEM stock, so you're getting a popping sound from the mid-pipe (post-cat) after the intake install?( exactly, seems post cat, but doesn't do it everytime)

3) Cylinder temp going up - we've all got that analog gauge - how much more significantly is the temp going up? (You mean water gauge in dash, i don't whink it will be significant enough to make a difference on the gauge. It was again hypothetic, because this is what usually happens when you are running lean)

4) Lastly, did you put the stock OEM intake back on and see if all these issues went away? I'm particularly curious about the cylinder temp going up bit - that shouldn't be the case and certainly not to the point where temps have gone up that acutely... Hmmm. (I have been a lazy these past week, i wanted to do it, but i prefered taking care of my brake for lapping and put back the stock suspension for winter.)

Stock / Airaid /Injen

I found the Airaid sytem to be terrible, poor sounding and noticble loss of power and I lost 5mpg as well! With the Injen I feel the power gain and love the sound when I hit the gas...and I got my mpg back.

Anyone in San Diego want a free Airaid intake with about 400miles on it?
