I do hope that with them putting rear seats into this car that they will atleast be useable for an adult.... Given the amount of rear seating room in the tc it might be possible...

Even if we do get some usable rear seats, don't expect much. They will likely be smaller than the tC and every time I give a ride to someone above 5'11" they always complain, so I would imagine it would be even worse. But then again, you won't be buying this car to drive 3-4 people around (I hope). I think Toyota is doing it so if you absolutely have to give someone a ride, you can, and obviously to save $ on insurance. 2+2 is not nearly as bad as a 2 seater. |

I am very excited for this car and cant wait to own one/ continue modding and enjoying driving .All in all though real world application still needed for a dd!But hoping for useable rear seats isnt like saying i want 4 doors and a 3speed auto...I simply hope if somethings there make it usefull. |

I spoke to my friend in Scarborough Lexus Toyota, and that they will be getting the Scion FR-S in late spring. The price maybe approx $27,000 full loaded with a 6-stick. The brouchers are being shipped in late January, my name is one already for both the car and the broucher .

I've ranted about my distaste for Scion's marketing a lot in the past, but for us Canadians going Subaru out of spite may not be a great option.
Base Scion tC In Canada: $20,850 CAD (22,002.95 USD) In USA: $18,995 USD Canadians get shafted: $3007.95 USD (before tax) But a base Subaru WRX In Canada: $32,495 CAD (34,291.90 USD) In USA: $25,495 USD Canadians get shafted: $8796.90 USD!!!! That is a LOT of mods...

Maybe because they know that the residents are willing to spend more on an awesome AWD vehicle, especially with the snow they get? I don't know. This is what I first thought, but it would also be nice to see a comparison with a more expensive car in the US and its Canadian equivalent. For instance, if there's a car sold in the US for at least $50K and the "shafting" increase for the Canadian equivalent is less than +$8796.90 USD, then this will rule out the possibility that the "shafting" simply increases with a vehicle's value.
[But even if there is an example of this ^, it probably isn't as simple an explanation for the jump in pricing difference.] |

might be a good idea to buy it new in the US. Anyone know if Scion will honour the warranty? I know Toyota does so I am assuming here.

You can try, but expect a hell of a lot of hassle. I know here, they charge your tax based upon your home address to keep people from trying to pay less tax on their car by buying it elsewhere. And then you're going to have import taxes and most likely issues trying to title the car.
