Changed my oil yesterday. Used Amsoil 75w90 GL-4. It was the only thing I could get my hands on. The difference? Well not night and day, but a very noticeable improvement. Maybe the Redline or Pentosin would have been better, I don't know. Anyways I just past 3000km and I'm glad I dropped the factory oil, there was a bunch of crap on the magnetic plug.

I wish I could say that I've experienced the same improvement as scioneric and gmhooker, but I can't.

Since day 1 my FR-S has had the same notchy 1-2 shift as others have complained of. This weekend I replaced the factory MTL with the Pentosin as recommended by gmhooker and the shift feel seems to have gotten worse - it's definitely not improved. Yesterday while driving after work I even had grinding issues engaging 2nd and then third.

In the AP1 S2000 shifting issues are sometimes caused by old/dirty fluid in the clutch master cylinder. My car only has about 3k miles on it now though.

I also experienced mine getting even smoother as it works itself in. Very surprised, and suspect that what fluid is in this guys tranny. Mine felt different from the stock FRS I drove this past weekend, nother boardmember.

I decided to get Motul gear 300 for the rear dif. Any problem with also using it in the manual transmission?

Did an Amsoil swap yesterday... Can already tell the notchy 1-2 is reduced.. Still learning the differences as weather is shifting colder..

I gotta say I'm experiencing the same. It's still notchy/grinds if you shift too fast. The oil "feels" thinner than the stock oil, in that the notchyness is not as muted, if you can imagine it being muted.

I'm willing to give it a few more miles, and maybe a cold morning or two, but as it sits right now.... I'm probably going to swap it out at some point in the near future.

Sorry
