Thats fucked. Being both a car and motorbike enthusiast, I've ridden/driven that road many times and that turn is already dangerous enough without oil. I've personally seen two guys come off bikes on that turn just from leaves alone.

I would beat the fucking shit out of anybody who I caught dumping oil on the ground.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was one of the local residents in/around the RNP who was sick of hearing cars at night.

Which corner was the oil dumped on?

People driving through RNP at night isn't anything new. So if you live on there it's kinda expected people will use that road to get to Wollongong despite what time of day.

The sharp hairpin type bend.. near it you'll see a red car flipped on its top if it's still there.. saw it the other day.. maybe that was one of the oil write off.? Or maybe a different accident

However, Inspector Rae said it was unlikely drifters were responsible.
''This is not a common thing for drifters to do,'' he said. ''They don't need to do that. They drift without oil.''

Fail??? What am I missing? The cops state not once, not twice, but three times that drifters didn't do it.

If anything's a fail, it's your reading comprehension...

His reading comprehension is fine, the way he put it, fail at the media for going on about drifters when Yeah police mentioned numerously it wasn't drifters yet media kept pointing finger at one group..

And that sh1t about the person who didn't want to be named, nearly being run off the road is complete crap invented bymedia to spice things up in their favour

Right back at ya mate

I was talking about the 'drifters' bullshit in that article. It shouldn't even have come up. Nothing to do with drifting lol

tldr: they have no idea.

The media wasn't going on about anything. Hell "drifting" wasn't even mentioned until close to the end of the article with the one stupid statement that was immediately discredited by the cops.

As to your second point; were you there? Multiple people in this thread stated it's a popular spot to go driving...and I'm sure they're all going the speed limit and not cutting corners...right? Having one of those clowns cross the line and spook an on-coming car doesn't seem that far fetched.

there are NA drivers in the surrounding suburbs that do the oil dumps on a regular basis, however this is the first report of it being in the national park.

apparently someone died yesterday due to another slick.

They have found oil cans with prints and have had someone for questioning according to another forum where 2 of the first victims posted.

@Cappuccino Cappuccino would be demolished and so would you... Well most cars would at 80km/h around a bend straight into a tree. You got roll bars on it ?

The only safety feature the Cappuccino has is a seat belt. I will eventually get a Roll Bar.....its just a very slow project. It has no ABS, no TCS or VCS. Nadda just you the car and the road....just the way I like it.
