I'd expect a price increase similar to the increase of the WRX STI over the regular WRX. I'd bet that a BRZ STI with a factory turbo would be a lot closer to 35k..with the limited being even more. Because it won't be the same BRZ with a turbo added, they'll upgrade brakes, suspension, clutch and probably interior again...and that gets spendy quick.

Will once I get the pipes made, there wont be a need for a heat shield. Heat wrapping the pipes will ne more than enough.

I'm more than capable of making a good heat shield. I just didn't want to spend more time then I needed to. It's only a temp.

My L28ET on the other hand is a different story.

The heat shields that I made for the turbo and MAF are of a better product. And that's because they are there for good.

Agreed the positives in having it on the car from the factory is that it comes with a warranty but doing it yourself you get to pick the brands you want and you can do it over time instead of having the higher payment. I'm looking at the Innovative of Vortech supercharger kits they are both saying they are going to male kits that don't require an intercooler

35K minimum lol I do see the BRZ gaining some extra weight. Isn't the Limited around 200Lb's more than the FRS? Adding a Turbo, intercooler, larger breaks and probably some appearance add-ons. It may creep into the 3kLb range

Yeah I like the way you shielded that. I use to slope them to help push the heat out under the car as it goes down the road and closing the space up stops it from collecting when your stuck in traffic. I haven't been under mine sense my exhaust to see how much open space it has to see if a wrap would be enough to let me sleep at night without worrying about it a little bit lol

Here in AZ, an intercooler is a must have. Running forced induction with cooler air then ambient is the best way to go. The cooler is more more dense so the spool up time is shorter and quicker. Reason why I'm running a water to air intercooler on my Z.

Thanks! I took my time with this setup since I know it wouldn't be changing.

I honestly think just heat wrapping the pipes will be enough. As long as the tips are out and away from under the bumper, everything should be good.

Yeah here during the summer it would be very important to have it cooled but the idea of not having one for people that live in Michigan (where I will be eventually going back to) Is attractive because it could dramatically drop the price.

Your probably right I have only done this on big old v8 cars when you take out the muffler you could fit another car in the hole it leaves and it's not uncommon to see a muscle car put out up to 200 degrees on this little car the space would be less and the I bet they wouldn't get much over 120 degrees with no muffler.

I was fine running no mufflers on my GTO. Nothing got too hot to worry about. I do the same on my BRZ and I'm pretty much melting wires right away. Size and location has a lot do with this. It doesn't help that the exhaust dumps upward instead of straight out. And that the exhaust is collecting in the large cavity were the muffler used to be. The GTO dd have heat shields that ran the length of the mufflers, so that helped.

Yay my crickets are gone. Kinda miss them. Was stuck in traffic today and didn't hear the chirps bouncing off cars back into my windows.

That's what I told the dealership. They are also ordering me a new window switch foe the drivers side to fix the passenger window issue....not that its going to fix the issue.
