Yeah, I've talked to Capitol Subaru. Their waitlist is 30 deep and if you want to reserve, you'll be getting a 2014 model (which won't be out till next year). They haven't even come out with pricing/trim changes (if any) and people are putting a $500 deposit. I believe Livermore is the same way. Not sure though. Those are the only two dealerships that I know of that are not charging a markup. |

I guess I'll move my intro from the FR-S side to this topic, since I changed my original order to a SWP BRZ Limited
![]() ---------------------original intro----------------- New as well I've been wanting to pull the trigger on this for a while but was hesitant. Traded in a 2011 VW GTI which was fairly new as I had just traded in a 2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track. Went with whiteout and the upgraded stereo...and the 6AT. I know I know. Should be about 4-6 weeks for delivery, which is fine. I can wait well into the winter. I got rid of the Genesis because of a need for 4 doors, and although it was a great car, the build quality was very spotty. I then sold the GTI because I realized I never use the 4 doors (was thinking I would need the extra doors and space for my 2 y/o daughter and another rug rat on the way...not so as we use my wife's CR-V for everything). I've also really wanted to get back to a Japanese car. I've owed many Celica's, Prelude's, a Lexus IS, a G35 coupe, etc. I was also a project manager for Denso, so I was very involved in Toyota product development. I miss all of that, and can't wait get back to MY roots with this car! Very excited. |

Huh....They must have changed their policy on "no markup". I hear it's a $500 refundable deposit but the delivery date is next year. Sounds like a long time but it's really only a couple of months away. I'd ask if I would be getting a 2013 or 2014, and if 2014, what are the options. What did you order? Trim/Color/Transmission? |

Quick intro. I've followed this car since early 2012. Been looking for a hobby to augment my summer flying of sailplanes. I'm at an age when a sports car fits my MO. I've been in Toyota 4x4 trucks for the past 13 years and switched to a sensible Subie Outback (5MT) last year. Very impressed with Subaru engineering and quality. Toyota has slipped much since the 90's. I test drove a FRS in late July and put a deposit down. Did a bit more research and decided a BRZ was a better choice for me, so switched in mid-August. Now I'm waiting for a Sport-Tech (Limited) 6MT to arrive. Last I heard from my dealer was December. I'm disappointed that Canada only has 4 colours to choose from. Would have liked grey or the dark blue, but the silver I have on the way is pretty nice too. I'm hoping that Subaru has worked out some of the kinks in the engine by time they built mine...

Hi Guys. New Here!! I've kind of been following the forum but just as an unregistered guest. Anyways, I'm looking to buy my first BRZ (my first car actually). I just got a call yesterday that (after waiting on the waitlist) my dealership just got the limited BRZ /w the manual at San Bernardino reserved for me. Will try to learn a few things on the forum and (hopefully) join the BRZ family here!
Some background info is I was born in Chicago, moved to Arizona for my undergrad (Go Wildcats) and then I'm now living in San Diego. 23 years old

Hello from north of the border. Names Cale, ordered a satin white sportech 6mt back in June. Had to get a special allocation from Subaru Canada but she's on the way! It's going to be my daily so we shall see how it handles snow this winter.

Hi All.
I've been following the FT-86 in news media for years since concept and lurking here off and on for a while to see how the release went, big thanks for the great info you guys share on this site. I thought I would continue to watch and wait for a while longer until my kids got older and I no longer needed a family friendly vehicle, but recently my awesome wife suggested I sell my truck and get a sports car like I've been wanting for years, since her Mazda5 fills the family vehicle role perfectly. So I have now finally joined the dealer waiting list for a WRB MT6 Limited BRZ, and am really looking forward it! My local dealer (Carter Subaru in Seattle) doesn't do deposits and wasn't able to give me a specific ETA, but I am officially on the list and they will let me know the VIN when one gets assigned to me. Anyhow thanks again for the great site and I look forward to contributing now that I am officially out of lurk and wait mode

welcome to the forums!! and you'll have to keep us informed on how it handles in the true great white north. how much snow did you see last winter? down by the border we only saw maybe 6 inches at a time tops. it snowed a fair bit, but just never stayed on the ground long enough.

Every time I see someone from the US order in here, I die a little inside as it pushes Australia's wait time out further and we can't secure more cars
Wait is currently sitting at 13+ months, mine is ~10 months away now.
