I recommend the blackvue its a very good dash cam

By real ones I mean ones that connect to a central server, dedicated and hardwired.

The dashboard ones are good and I did mention to get one in front and back.

I have such on me celica - twin field micowave sensor which always scares the shit out of anyone who comes close to the car & makes them think twice about what they do next ! The alarm system warns them away - highly recommended.

get a Mongoose M80 series

i had it in my SW20 and it was excellent.

Are they reliable? Have had Viper for years and it's been great ! Never false alarms, although it will chew thru battery if it's sits for weeks without a drive.

Yes reliable, also gave the car auto windows up and turbo timer functions.
