As for appearance, I drive with my hood closed, so I don't care what it looks like under the hood. Our cars don't have too much eye candy anyway, so my hood stays closed at car shows.

As for the sound, you're missing my point. The aftermarket intake produces lots of sound PLUS the additional sound the sound tube pipes in. It's not like having the sound tube hooked up deletes all other engine noise. You'll still have your regular aftermarket intake sound, it will only be amplified by the additional sound coming through the sound tube. Is that illogical?

That's very logical, and in most cases probably correct. Whatever sounds the aftermarket intake is making, it will be translated into the cabin by the sound tube. And by all means, if that is what your after, then keep it in. I agree about "popping" the hood at an event when the car is brand new and stock (besides the curious folks) but I am anal about some things like extra crap roaming about. Less is more in my eyes when it comes to under hood appearance.

Greddy has a the sound tube option. The pictures at the first of the thread are old and do not reflect the production model.

Just wanted to let everyone know. I talked to Takeda and they have no intention of offering any "sound-tube-less" pipes. I even offered to pay a few bucks for one just to clean up the engine bay.

Thanks. What do you all think of TRD parts? I was thinking of installing nothing but TRD so I wouldn't void my warranty but looking at other brands I'm like "screw the warranty, I want Greddy and injen!" yet still can't make the move to buy cuz I would like my car to be covered in the event of some mechanical failure. Have any of you with obvious mods taken the car to the dealer? If so,did they tell you that "all that mess just voided your warranty"?

even TRD voids warranty if it is proven to be the caused of the issue

So does this have a sound-tube delete or not?

I actually want to keep it...
