That connection is a pliable rubber coupler which expands from the 3.5” Supercharger inlet to 5” where it mates with the airbox. The unique design of the coupler allows for engine movement relative to the airbox, while maintaining a low profile. From the view in the photo, it is somewhat difficult to see what the connection looks like.

I would expect this set up to be cheaper than AVO's turbo kit cuz there isn't a manifold which should drive cost down significantly but of course this is never the case.

None of the Vortech kits on other companies cars at SEMA have been tuned from what i have heard so i wouldn't expect any numbers until after unless Vortech releases them.

This is the ONLY thing I've seen on this entire forum I've wanted enough to sacrifice the warranty for.

I do try.

I ask about the larger tube (I understand flow rate) because it is my understanding the factory ECU tune is determinate on the MAF being in a tube a of a specific dimension. If you change the dimension of the tube, the ECU gets an inaccurate reading of the flow of air. So how would this change in diameter of tubing where the MAF is located not require a tune on the ECU?

If does, then that's ok too. I'm just wrapping my head around what's all entailed with installation of this kit.

Larger MAF housing does mean that tuning would be required to accommodate for it, but then so does having a Supercharging System installed, so the idea is to not only take care of the out-of-the-box guys, but also those that will be wanting/needing more. Our thought was "Why not make it better right off the bat?". That way, there is no need to purchase or fabricate different brackets, ducting, intercooler, etc. when the time comes for more power...the system is ready when you are.

What's the tuning solution for the kit? FMU with an R4 software?

The engine moves radially, the SC and the intercooler piping connected to the throttlebody will move around eachother kind of like a thermostat spring, the engine would have to twist 90 degrees before any contact is made
