Oh yes, please do consider doing that leg by rail. Traveling by train has its own special appeal - the clickety-clack of the wheels on the rails, you can just stare out the window enjoying the view, get up and walk around, read, sleep etc. Depending on logistics, it wouldn't even necessarily take longer end-to-end vs flying.

I've run into a situation like this where I was in a totally new country. I wasted a lot of time walking around instead of going to specific places. lol
