I'm getting quotes of approx $1300 - $1500, but I'm only using the online quotes at the moment.

Also, does anyone know if adding an intake and exhaust are going bump up the insurance? How far do you have to go before it is declared a 'modification' by insurance companies. And manufacturers for that matter?

I forgot to mention that's WITH my CAMS discount and multi-policy discount. Ridiculous. At one point I had three cars comprehensively insured with them at once and all were valued at over $20K each. I'll be shopping around.

I got an online quote from shannons. It was over $3k. More than double the next closest quote I got.

Even changing parker lights is a mod
Nrma cover any legal mod mad you don't have to tell em if you did it or not, just keep receipts and all

This is one of the reasons I went with NRMA also.
Just make sure value of car plus mods is covered by the agreed value.

Also be sure to read what is covered, one of the cheap online guys I looked at only covered up to $3,000 if the at fault driver was uninsured and could be identified!

NRMA, $45k value, 1k excess, $1055.

One of the questions NRMA asks is "Is your car in a condition that meets registration requirements in your State/Territory?" Best of luck if you answer no.

So for those of you in a similar situation...
21yo Male. Below average Sydney(inner west) suburb. privately garaged. No at-fault claims.

NRMA-$2300
AAMI-$2947
JUSTCAR- $1989
COLES-$5400

And just for the lols:
YOUI- $9645 (no kidding..)

Even Just Car's quote of 1989 is a bit steep to be honest. These are all online quotes, anyone know of possible cheaper insurance companies or companies that will match my lowest quote?

Car's getting close now so I've been looking around...
27 year old male, no accidents in past 5 years, lower-middle class suburb, no previous insurance.
Coles: $1632p.a. - $700 excess, market value
GIO: $1611p.a. - $800 excess, $35,490 agreed
AAMI: $1580p.a. - $720 excess, $34,800 agreed
Allianz: $1533p.a. - $650 excess, $34,800 agreed
JustCar: $1477p.a. - $625 excess, $34,800 agreed
NRMA: $1118p.a. - $800 excess, $37,200 agreed

NRMA wins.
