I don't think they are allowed to change the pricing. From what i was told Pure price is what it costs from Scion.I would contact Toyota and see what you come up with.I was not able to negotiate my price,so how can dealerships charge more than MSRP?

A few years back Ford dealerships were trying to overcharge for there "A" plan members(ford workers/tier 1 suppliers). When Ford found out the dealerships lost their "A" plan pricing meaning they would no longer get business from people with "A" plan eligibility.Ford punished the dealers directly.

Remember...dealers are independently owned and operated,so sometimes suppliers like Toyota are oblivious as to what dealerships are doing.

According to Scion, the dealer can price the vehicle for whatever they like whether it is higher or lower than MSRP.

I talked to Scion and they basically told me Pure Price is whatever price the dealer charges for the car. But if you hear or know differently let me know.

That's not how it works. They can set any price they want as long as it is consistently shown throughout the dealership, website, menus etc.

The phrases "Pure Price" and "MSRP" have absolutely nothing to do with each other...zero, zip, nada. Which is why the entire concept of Pure Price is just 100% Pure Bullshit for Pure Morons who couldn't haggle their way out of a paper bag if their life depended on it.

Of course, dealer can mark up. Pure price means every same model in the lot costs the same. They can mark you up $3000 as long as they price the same model in the lot the same selling price.

You have to realize there is very little profit margin for dealerships @ $25k. They'll be lucky if they clear $1k after they pay the salesman.

Unless the dealer is going to make a small fortune off your trade in they won't move far from MSRP. Rebates and incentives not withstanding.

When I ordered/purchased my FR-S ... during the negotiation on my trade ... I was told many times that the base price on the FR-S was pre-set (25K and some change) and that the dealership would be audited by Scion NA if they tried to "discount" or increase the price of the FR-S. Mine came with the wheel locks, bumper sticker and rear trunk mat for just over 25K. This was the case at both of the Phoenix dealerships I visited.

The following appears in the Build & Price section of the Scion Canada website...."MSRP is the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price in Canadian dollars. A Scion or Toyota dealer is free to set its own selling price for Scion or Toyota products and services."

All pure price means is that they have to sell the car for whatever price they initially list it. If they list the car on the web or in an ad for say 25k they have to sell it for that. They can not drop the price or raise it. If they list it at 20k they have to sell it for 20k etc.

They could list an frs for 37k (i have seen it) if they want.

Plus 24995 is msrp without bespoke which is 895 i believe. So 26k is about right.

i called up the dealership to see what was going on. turns out what my dealer didnt tell me was that there was extra shit added during the manufacturing process. rear bumper applique, lock nuts, and trunk mat. while 26,xxx is a good price for all that, it just pissed me off that he said it just had the bespoke and didnt fail to include everything else till last minute. i'm looking for the most basic model possible and he knew that, but he just lead me on for a month thinking that this car was the one i was looking for.
sooo, i decided to make him think i was purchasing it from him, he got all the files and loan work done with the bank and hes coming in to the dealership, (probably right around now) just to find out that i will not be purchasing the vehicle through him. i will be looking at other dealerships for my fr-s, how i want it. i feel a little messed up cause he said he lives like 50 min away from the dealership but ive had so many problems with this guy. the past month had been full of headache and heartache just cause he lied about every little thing.

he deserves it. asshole

I didnt read you previous posts Jeong, but lets **** him around doing his commission job because the company wants a few bucks extra. Trunk mat, sticker and wheel locks, what's that like a couple hundred extra? Maybe they got it that way from a dealer trade as that is dealer or sometimes port installed stuff.

Dude who is making the sales guy run around for nothing, you should learn to be a better person. You should also get ****ed around and end up SOL at your job too so you get a better understanding what you are doing. You are not a mensch (as if you know that means).

How dare they try to get a few bucks extra! Don't they know their sole purpose is to serve you?

Grow up you immature ass! You might be a narcissist.
