Wow! Yeah I know...they do it to their used cars too. They have an 01 or 02 Celica GT for 9,000. It has 134k miles and has been in an accident. I called them acting interested, and they said "yeah it's a very rare car which is why we took it in for a lot higher" then I said "but it has an accident, and it's not a GT-S...did you guys think it was a GT-S?" Then they just said it has a nice service history....

To compare Lexus in Colma had an 01 Celica 97k miles clean CarFax for 6.9k and I think they let it go for 5k after being on the lot for almost 2 months.

I stopped into the Modesto Toyo/Scion dealership today. Whereas before they could tell me what colors/number they had coming in their next allotment, they could not produce that information at all today. I asked them if this was because of the CEL/QC issues and if the cars were 'in port' and not in final delivery. They confirmed this and that they did not know when or what the next cars into their inventory would be.

While I would like to keep my $ in the local area, it looks like I will have to search outward for the Hot Lava manual w/o front plates drilled. Other than the horribly decal-laden demo in San Diego, I may have to do the California new car shuffle...

Got a call from Piercy Toyota/Scion aka "Pricy" yesterday on a dark grey FRS manual with 5k mi on it. The guy told me they are probably going to sell it @ MSRP (it was in the shop and getting cleared for sale).

Thing was, the salesman got my name wrong TWICE in the same phone call and then said he had a missed call from me (when he originally called me and I never called back).

So, if anyone wants a dark grey FRS with 5k mi on it and buy it @ MSRP...LOL.....

I did get mine there for MSRP, but I have also seen them stick some crazy "dealer installed options" shit and ask tons of Money.

I have had two horrible experiences with them. First time I setup an apt for a test drive and the sales rep was a no show. They handed me off to someone that showed me the 38k markup crazy car and told me I couldn't test drive it because then no one would buy it, I told him no one would buy it regardless with $12k in dealer markup. I waited a week and got a different sales rep, setup an apt in 30 minutes to drive this demo car. 7 minutes later they called back saying it was sold. WTF, you can't hold on to a demo car for 30 minutes to make more sales...

That sounds EXACTLY like my first time dealing with them. I called them up and asked about an FR-S in stock. Guy on the phone told me to come down and I specifically asked if I could test drive and he said sure. I make my way down and the sales guy wasn't around. I was handed off to another guy who told me "No test drives..."
What the...and it was the Hot Lava car....I didn't like the color but it was lowered on Tein Springs and had a FiveAxis body kit. The sales man said, "the color would grow on me..." Nope.....walked away.

haven't seen them on here in a while, but there were 2 sales guys who were selling FR-S at MSRP in the Bay Area - Josh @ City Scion and TJ @ OneToyota (Oakland). Both had waiting lists, and no demo rides, but they're probably your best bet at getting one without markups in the Bay Area.
