A little less power gives you more precise throttle control and less tires spin from a stop. Believe me. If you don't have the flash yet, you will chirp your tires a little more often. Heh, well, I'm originally born and raised on Oahu, but have lived in Chicago for about 10 years. I still go back about once a year.

If map 1 isn't valet (or snow mode), the valet will have access to your tuned car after he turns it off, and back on again.

I'll do it. I'll use pscylo's cable again if I see him. I think he still has my license on his dongle. Might as well do his too.

Dealt with Mervyn and he was a really nice guy or chap as they like to say ![]() Remotely fixed me up and I have to say I know I missed my car but when I hear her fire up after 2 days of nothing it felt sooo good. What felt better tho was how the car drove holy there way more mid range. It was worth the down time to get a chance to talk to Mervyn and the ECUTek guys and the end result who can argue with that

So you reinstalled the ECU and they remotely connected to your laptop and re-flashed it ? What tune did they flash ? The original one you had error with or the latest from John ?

Hey @Visconti I have a important question. I have been leaving this alone because you have been busy and I STILL don't have my car back. Is there anything special I need to do after making final payment from the GB?

They updated the software and "challenged" (thats what it said on screen) some error code before flashing with the stage 1 tune John originally sent me. They did also build 2 other files but I'm not sure if that had to do with the flash or getting the cable to communicate with the ECU again. Mervyn says he thinks their flash issues are related to sabarus/toyota's cam sensor/timing issue but is hard to be sure as they can't replicate it. My ft86 brothers just know that even if your car goes down it can be saved 100%

Hawaiian has a link somewhere earlier in this thread explaining how to remove the ECU. There are two ECUs next to each other and it is the one with four connections going to it (the other has three connections and is easier to remove). You need to get down on your back with your head against the firewall to see the two nuts that have to be removed. A ratchet, 10mm wrench makes the job easier (very little room to maneuver down there).
