He and I both agreed that I shouldn't learn on the FR-S
perhaps you could learn on a rental in a few days? It really not too difficult...

Once it is moving in 3rd or above it is sweet. This car has a connection to the road that just makes me happy to be driving, even if I am going to work!

Below third the car has some issues. Second gear is just like a big old wart on a pretty girl. The goofy clutch takeup does not help. Neither does that big torque hole around 3500 rpm

The sound tube has got to go; the boxter engine does not have a nice sound to start with, why did they make it intrusive?

Also, at the front the recess for the emblem that carries on back onto the bonnet
that looks like it reappears on the roof, expanding as it goes back.

Good thread that I've enjoyed reading.
I thought it was so you helmets would clear the roof easily?

Garage
Quickly
My garage faces the house about 7O metres
I love that I can sneak out to the garage once my missus and 2 boys are asleep, start the car and use just my auto foglights on until my lights are facing down the driveway the go driving for an hour or 2
Also I can get 2 child seats in the back of my GT 86
We travelled 200km each way on Fathers day up the coast, it was tight but not uncomfortable( I'm 6'3 too)

The other day I noticed I could take a Circle/roundabout at around 60 miles per hour. It was a sunday morning around 530 and there wasn't a soul on the road. Came up to it doing around 70 and said fuck it, coasted down to 60 and just braked a little coming into the apex of the turn, coming out I picked her right back up to 70. That's when I realized how much I love my frs.

Sounds like a tire issue.

Things I notice in my FR-S.
Most people dont blink.
Many people have that "wtf is that?" look.
A few are intimidated on the road and kinda scared of running with you becuase it looks so damn good, and they do not know what it is.
A couple will outright "wow" at the looks of this car.

I agree totally on the 3rd being fun from thier up, and often hit curves leaving in 3rd...pulsing on and off. However, I like the sound and always have windows down.

That's another good thing about the car. You can have the windows down at speed and the design is so slippery there is no buffeting. You can hear everything outside but the airflow slips past and leaves you unaffected.

The first two I can pretty much get behind.

I think the sound tube is kind of silly, but I disagree on it not having a nice sound. To me, this is one of the better sounding 4 cylinder engines I've heard. Just a bit ofgrowl with that nice high compression engine sound.

Also, it's boxer. Boxsters are a type of Porsche, and boxter isn't a word.

, I really did not put a finger on it, but that is what it is, no buffeting!
