My car runs like shit now; acceleration is very slow, and it seems extremely jerky/super sensitive to drive now, compared to before the issue started. Has anyone else been having this problem? My mileage has also dramatically decreased, from about 27 city/32 highway to 22 city/25 highway.

SDIAZ, FRS, 1242mi, currently sitting at Autoland Scion in NJ with P0019.

Dealer is attempting to replace ECM but car has been in the shop for a month already. I just got a call from service manager, car was supposed to be done tomorrow. ECM was delayed to Oct 25, then till mid Nov. and now there is no ETA. This is pissing me off, I really just want to drive my FRS while we still have some nice weather out.

Update: I've contacted Toyota Belgium about this issue, they noted down my details and promised me someone will contact me again.
Three hours later I got a friendly call back from them. I explained the situation and expressed my (deep) concern that my car won't simply be fixed by repairing / replacing parts. I've told them about how the situation is being handled right now in the US (replacing ECU) and that this should apparently fix the CEL/SL issue. They had my VIN nr by hand and contact details, so I was correctly inputted in their system. Told them where my car was right now and that my dealer has been very helpful in the process.
They promised me they'll keep in touch and that they'll contact Toyota Europe about this/keep my dealer informed.
I'm happy I've atleast contacted them, so thanks for the people who advised me to do it . Now lets see if Toyota will actually DO something...

*edit : OP: here is my VIN NR 5388XX

Some have been fixed by just re-flashing the computer and some have needed it completely replaced. They still don't know for sure how to fix it for everyone yet.

The thing is there could be different problems depending on a number of factors with casting and milling.

It looks as if one size does not fit all.

I told Scion today that I am Lemon Law'ing the car. They had their chance, could not get the car right, and I'm out of patience. I want a brand new car, already spoke with my attorney and I'm going to get the ball rolling on this. I said I want a brand new FR-S with a high VIN # so that it is not in the range of the problematic cars. Let's see where this takes us.

Anyone already lemon yet? What were the results???

Just came back from the dealership and they told me they needed more time to determine the issue. I gave them the tsb about the crickets and they are fixing the fuel pump and they gave me the run around that it might be the fuel pump but we all knows its not..tomorrow i believe the fuel pump should be there and then if that doesnt work they said they will order new ecu since reflash did not resolve the issue! ill keep you guys updated

Well, you can add me to the list too.
Scout27rgr, FRS, 1326 mi, 7079XX, in the shop in San Antonio
From the moment that I picked up the car it had a little bit of an idle issue and thought "not a big deal", but two weeks ago, the CEL & SLI came on and the cruise control came on an wouldn't go off. Now I have Scion telling me that they do a "case by case" compensation. This is really starting to get old since I've been driving this Matrix around for 12 days with my aFM intake and Perrin lightened pulley sitting in the loaner. It just seems like crap that they know that there is a real problem and they are acting like it's "just a programming issue", then why are they replacing the entire ECU and now they are taking care of the fuel pump and a couple other issues, but come on. I still would have bought the car regardless if the issues, I just probably would have waited.

Well, i went through the "arbitration" process. basically i was #27 on the list, had the car back since SEPT 10. 21 days in the shop. replaced cam gear and ecu. total miles now at 441 problem started at 76 miles. i still feel the car isnt 100% i have random sluggish acceleration. anyway they told me basically to sum it up that the car CURRENTLY has no CEL and its in drive-able condition so they fixed it under warranty to shut up and enjoy the car.... so congrats to the people getting compensation.. i got ZERO. 9 days to be able to lemon. looking forward to the next time it has an issue...

Add me.. :/ 800 miles.. dealership just cleared the cel codes and tried to send me on my way.. now scion told them to keep the car and further look into the issue.. they are trying to replicate the rough idling and cel code I got last week.

At least you are getting your ecu looked at. The dealership I'm going to is working with Toyota and they aren't going to do anything until they replace the fuel pump. This is really sucking. They also told me the fuel pump is on back order and they don't have an ETA for the pump. Has anyone else been told an eta for the pump?
