Have you been pulled over yet with a new exhaust?

Hey all, I was wondering if any of you guys have gotten pulled over yet with your new exhaust? I just got me the burnt tip invidias. I love the sound of it and just hoping cops won't give me shit. I'm sure muscle cars are just as loud. But I just want to hear if anyone has gotten pulled over and what happened. And if you have any tips? (first sports car. Upgraded from 1992 335k mile Camry.)

I think you will get pulled over for speeding before exhaust being too loud. ... i agree with you, i have seen older mustangs, newer challengers , and trucks with way too loud exhaust and no cigar .. i think you are safe with the invidia.

As long as you have a resonator and at least one cat converter, you will be safe. However, you should invest in a radar detector because your new exhaust and will make you want to drive faster. lol

Over here in NY cops ususally let the muscle cars slide with loud exhaust system. They love to pull imports over and give tickets for exhaust, there are certain areas where I will not drive through because I will get picked on.

its not called a catback converter. . I meant a catalytic converter, we have two of them in our cars. One on the end of the header, and the other in the beginning of the front pipe. The stock resonator is part of the midpipe.

I am not sure if the Invidia has a resonator or not.. I am too lazy to go look, lol.

I have always been amused on how police will hand out tickets to cars with a loud exhaust but never seem to bother people on Harleys which are vastly louder than any car that doesn't have straight pipes.

The traffic laws usually don't cover motorcycles. Same with big rigs.

True, but noise ordinances are usually what is quoted when the police pull over drivers for loud exhaust and/or stereos.

For example, the City of Huntsville just enacted a noise ordinance for city limits that specifically dealt with car stereos a few years ago. When I was growing up in Seattle back around 1990 they enacted the same type of laws to combat cruising and again in the late 90's for the import crowd. The tickets weren't moving violations.
