So I got a quote from Geico, full coverage w/500 deductible and 100/300 and it was about $60 less a month than progressive. I'm definitely going to switch.
I spoke to one of their licensed insurance sales people and he said that they must be using different risk tables since there's no data on this car yet. |

I'm 28 and with AllState I'm paying $180 each month for the BRZ, which is $20 less than my 2011 WRX Limited was. My rates were about $80 lower at one point, but I put in one too many claims to get dings and bumpers fixed instead of paying out-of-pocket (super rough year, financially). I hate Alaska. I put it up to the highest deductible, but I'm also paying more to have higher coverage for passengers since I'm nice like that. No multi-car discount, but hopefully it'll drop when I pick up my buddy's beater Mazda in January. I'm saving tons with smaller car payments and better gas mileage and maintenance.
I hate Alaska. |

Were you referring to full permissive user coverage? Most preferred carriers automatically give you that.
At work, we were talking about this kind of insurance that covers your deductible... it seems super affordable, and might be a good option for people who have made claims since those situations are what make comprehensive/collision coverage more expensive. |

I'm assuming you're talking to me, Deeez? haha I'm not familiar with the lingo of insurance. I just know that I was given a choice to pay less to have less coverage for someone's maxed-out hospital bills. I opted to pay a few bucks more per month to have more individual passenger coverage, however that's worded/summed up. I know State Farm gave the same choice when I had them.
I got pissed that I had a small deductible that I would use to fix things on my WRX, but then my insurance would raise and such. No issues for almost 10 years of driving, but then in 1 year I'm suddenly Public Enemy No. 1. I only stated that to emphasize why I was so excited to get the BRZ once my insurance was quoted to be less. |

The full permissive user coverage is something else for when other people neither listed on your policy nor in your household drive your vehicle. It just allows your coverages to apply to them, as some companies either have those limits drop down to the state minimum requirements, while a few crap companies don't cover those drivers at all. I totally missed/misunderstood the part where you mentioned passengers. |

Got it! Yeah, I have a hard time remembering stuff about insurance since overall I think insurance is a scam. I mean, I appreciate what it's there for, but I think it's completely loppy and mishandled.
Thanks for clarifying about the Medical Payments thing. I do believe mine are covered up to $50k, since anyone that's going to be in my car is going to be worth the extra love.
