Lets just say this is going to be a 2.0 N/A boxer motor. With that being said how high do you guys believe this thing will redline at?

realistically, 7000...
hopefully around 7500...

but cheap cars have cheap engines. the engine in all likelihood wont be a rev monster. with DI added, and if the long stroke seen on the FB20 is any indication, my guess is that they want more torque. high rev low displacement 4 cylinders usually have peaky power. nobody wants that. both the S2000 and now Civic Si went with a displacement increase to deal with that. what i personally want is a flat tq curve.

Well, to reference another lightweight, 2.0 N/A car that doesn't focus on power but is performance-oriented:

But they started out at 6700 iirc and were recently bumped up to 7200.
(O/T) Also, it has an oil pressure gauge! How great is that?!

7500. The heads are suppose to be designed by Yamaha.

^Unfortunately, unless you have a source, that's entirely rumor for now.

I'd honestly be happy with a wider torque band and less expensive motor, I don't see a good reason for it to be any more than 7000.

High revs are nice, but at the end of the day it adds cost and I'd rather it be strong from 3-7k than 4.5-8k haha.

its been confirmed that Yamaha will have a hand in the head design. (I mean its not a toyota sports car without them)

here a quick link but look around and you can find mentions of Yamaha in almost every bit of info that mentions the engine

I'm going to predict an 8K redline but power peaks out at 7,600.

Could be true, however we aren't sure if that is the production gauges.
