They're nimble with crazy turn in, a great peppy/ high-revving engine in the 4A-GE (or supercharged 4A-GZE, if you're lucky enough to find one for a good price), fun as hell to drive, with a well documented and apparent problem of transmissions popping out of....2nd? Its been awhile since I've read up on them.

I'd have a garage full of 'em if I had money to spend.

You have an MK2 mr2 turbo is it quick? hows the turbo lag; is it really bad?

turbo lag till about 3k rpm on 10lbs of boost for mine

it's decent, but i'd still like 100whp more than where i'm currently at. i'm on a stock turbo right now (ceramic CT-26), so i get nearly zero lag. full boost of 14psi by around 2800rpm. i have a built high compression stroker and tuned EMS.

turbo lag in general is really exaggerated. it's not an issue except for impromptu street racing, which is kinda gay anyway.

drag racing: 2 step and learn to shift, revs are always high = no lag
road course: learn to shift, revs are always high = no lag
autox: how much boost do you really think you need in 2nd gear?

there's a good quote about turbo lag that goes like this: "people who complain about turbo lag are in either the wrong gear or the wrong car."

lol good one i was asking because i was thinking about an mr2 because it is a small engine with turbo and i was comparing with people i know who have evos or wrx's and they all complain about turbo lag, I know their different cars but similar engines. Ive never driven an mr2 but i want to buy one.
