SatNav blackbox
anybody else a bit concerned that anyone that can change tracks on the radio can view every trip you made and then download all of your destinations and trip parameters?

This is true for most any GPS, not just the one in the BRZ, so no, I'm not.

Well at least my phone has a password and it doesn't track me while the GPS is off (aside from google), on this radio you just have to know which menu to look under and you can view every move of the driver as long as they don't know that the tracker is turned on by default.

I see; I'll have to look at that tomorrow. I was unaware that it tracks movement even without a planned route, if that's what you're saying.

That's what it looked like from the amount of trips logged.

my logs are under "more" (not find) then "trip monitor" or something to that effect, if you click on the log you will have all parameters such as avg speed top speed etc + map overlay

If you're carrying a cell phone a satellite could already track your movements so your point? Honestly I wouldn't be concerned about it, think of how many GPS/cell units exist and where that data is ending up...it's only an issue if you were planning to use the car to getaway from a crime or something. Even at that...it's not the way it's depicted on TV...there is a process (discovery) in obtaining that data. That process is supposed to make it less of a violation of privacy (protect your rights). Of course if you really don't like it...you could choose a car without it. I'll admit it freaks me out a little too and it makes me appreciate the simplicity of my old Jeep all the more.
