I've been having the idling issues, but no cel. Hopefully it stays that way. I do not want to leave my car with them for weeks. It's been getting progressively worse

What's the number I call to get a case number from Scion? My car has been into the dealer 5 times now and almost 6 weeks of downtime as of this thursday. I would love some compensation, considering I've now made payments on a car I haven't been driving.

I'm also concerned that the car won't be fixed. I had the OCV, Cam Gear and new ECU installed and now the car is making nosies like a fast ticking noise off throttle/deceleration. And now pulled a P0021. New cam gear is supposed to be here tuesday. So if this doesn't fix it, I'm going to file lemon law. Although, I have no idea how to go about that or how soon I can get a new car.

I officially asked for compensation today. I also told them that I wasnt interested in an extended warranty, I already bought the 100k. At this point, I am guaranteed that the car will be at the shp for at least 16 days.

They told me that they do not offer compensation until repairs have been completed to my satisfaction. Does anyone know what that is about?

Let's see what they say if everything works out with the work they are doing.

It is in your best interest to wait until the car is completed. It may take longer than either of you expect, so wait until it's finished then ask for what you want.

I've done the lemon law route in California on my 350z, but I'm not sure if it's the same for where you live. If you have any questions feel free to pm me

13-20-5 Reasonable number of attempts to conform.
(1) It is presumed that a reasonable number of attempts have been undertaken to conform a motor vehicle to the applicable express warranties, if:
(a) the same nonconformity has been subject to repair four or more times by the manufacturer, its agent, or its authorized dealer within the express warranty term or during the one-year period following the date of original delivery of the motor vehicle to a consumer, whichever is earlier, but the nonconformity continues to exist; or
(b) the vehicle is out of service to the consumer because of repair for a cumulative total of 30 or more business days during the warranty term or during the one-year period, whichever is earlier.
(2) The term of an express warranty, the one-year period, and the 30-day period shall be extended by any period of time during which repair services are not available to the consumer because of a war, invasion, strike, fire, flood, or other natural disaster.

I'm sure you can do a quick search for an attorney to represent you free of charge. Get all of your repair documents together along with your purchase info.

Gift Card

My car was in the shop for 22 days. They did a Recal to my ECU over the internet and Lisa said today my compensation was a $250 Amex gift card.
She would not extend the warranty.

I had a nice camry as a loaner during this time.

But I still felt shitty about it.

After more thought, I am OK with the 250 bucks. An extended warranty will prolly do me NO GOOD. As soon as I mod it a bit, they will void my warranty anyway.
Dodge did that to me when I bought a MOPAR stage one upgrade kit for my Neon SRT-4 and then they said I was too strong for the warranty.

What's your decision? Lemon law? Do you understand your refund will be prorated by the mileage of the car assuming a useful life of 120k miles? Or have they agreed to give you the full amount?

My rep Jose offered me 7yr/100k warranty and 250 gift card for 40 days in the shop. I told him it wasn`t enough for me to keep the car and would let him know Wed.

Yes, I will Lemon Law the car. The process will be to submit to abritration and if I don't like the offer from that I can choose full refund. Ohio law is pretty consumer friendly in this area. Here is a quote directly from Ohio Revised Code (our state law).
In the case of a sale, the contract price for the motor vehicle=, including charges for transportation, undercoating, dealer-installed options and accessories, dealer services, dealer preparation, and delivery charges; all finance, credit insurance, warranty, and service contract charges incurred by the consumer; and all sales tax, license and registration fees, and other government charges.

Unlike some other states, there is no penalty for miles driven.

They also have to pay attorney fees, court costs. The title will forever be 'branded' with verbage stating it was lemon law returned.

Yeah I'm about to start that process this week .1 day in August 24 days in sept and 8 days in oct ( get it back again tomorrow ) plus they never fixed the chirping bird issue so as soon as I get it back it will be returned to have that fixed. I don't understand why they didn't fx that last week. O well that's 33 dys total so far.
