I know plenty of folks on here don't care about Nissan Z cars, but I went to Z Nationals last week (car show and track event), and took plenty of pics. Enjoy

I did a little more than lean off a balloon or whatnot and let gravity guide me to the earth's surface.

Right, right. I thought he was just talking about the Red part...

Vacuum leak? D: I did notice the pcv hose having a rip at the lip but it was before the clamp . I need to think a bit about how to diagnose a leak...I haven't noticed any patterns though, it seems totally arbitrary.

On a side note, parallel parking in a very tight space on a steep hill= slight fried clutch smell lol

Alright, FT86 Random Thoughts Thread, I need your help.

I need a second car. My daily driver Mazda6 is in a state of disrepair. I almost always drive alone, although I have a large dog or two, and a mom and brother, and a large best buddy, all who occasionally need a ride somewheres. I also know that snowing will occur at some point in the next few months. I drive a 370z as my other car.

Here are my options, as I see them. What would you do?

1. buy some beater Mazda3, Ford Focus, or Hyundai Elantra for chump change, drive a miserable putt-putter to work every day, get amazing 40mpg on pump gas, have room and no problems taking people with.

2. buy a hot hatch, like a Mazdaspeed3, Focus ST, or WRX, have some fun driving a practical car, have room and no problem getting around in snow.

3. buy a RWD 4-seater, like a Mustang GT or FT86, have only a little room for passengers, have a challenge driving it in snow

4. Say "eff practicality" and buy a used Z06, drive around with a big smile every day, take days off work for any snow day...

What say you?

My vote is 1 or 2... in between Impreza wagon is good too. WRX is great, but in the snow, turbo isn't necessary... cool, but waste of gas.

I think the last time I saw 3.89 gas was...okay I guess it was around there earlier this year. Typically gas is >$4/gal in California though.

I only bought 9 gallons, hoping that the prices will be down a little by the next time I fill up. When gas is this expensive, even 33mpg doesn't seem good enough...
Meh, I don't sweat the price so much. But E85 at $3.89 is equivalent to paying $5.40 per GGE.

I'm too fat for a Mazda2 or Ford Fiesta. Anything sub-sub-compact is a no go for me. They're definitely cool little cars, though.

Well, I probably could go with a slow car, but my lead foot is having trouble with the idea
