I really wasn't expecting it to give much rumble with just a header replacement. Get a catback on there quick!

Yea I have a 99 WRX and its stock. And my stock exhaust does not have noticeable rumble(even though it is there). But that's only because it's the stock exhaust. I had an exhaust leak one time and my car had a really mean rumble. It was crazy. So an aftermarket exhaust would definitely help magnify the rumble sound when you have UEL headers.

Borla UEL headers seem to bring the boxer growl back in full effect:

I'm happy enough that with the right cat-back it will sound good.

Here's a video taken with my phone with the stock exhaust.

It does say in the thumbnail that the car has a mid pipe and cat back as well.

Keep up the good work.

a design similar to gt spec and a nice sounding catback is going to be one mean sounding machine.

How so?

I think it gives just the right amount of aggressive tone to fit the car.
