Nope it doesn't. Hence the reason someone mentioned it responds very well to mods. It don't take a crap load of more money to make a tC quick dude. Go research. A simple bolt on turbo setup (3k dollars) at 8psi would put bus lengths on a 350z. 8psi is enough to walk all those cars you listed. You would have to start modding those cars then to keep up with the tC (which they already cost more to start with). Seen 10psi boosting tC take a Z on a 75shot. tC has the same suspension layout as the SI, just not as stiff. All those cars cost more than a tC because the tC is minus the stuff those come with from the factory. If Scion had added that stuff from the factory just like those cars and made it the same price, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. But they didn't. There is no trim level and it's marketed as a blank canvas. Soon as you give it a little wake up call...it performs. |

Fail....of a response. Go back and read the part of it being about the driver when it comes to the track that I said already. Of course mr. obvious suspension is a small part (I was pointing that out only to show it's not some upper class car far above a tC. It has the same suspension layout). I wouldn't waste my time with an SI UNLESS it did have a turbo.. |

Same scenario with a nice used evo 7, 8, or 9. To make a tC as quick as a bolt on tuned evo would take so much money. In fact it would be almost impossible with any budget to make a tC as quick as a nicely built evo. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |

I always saw the TC as a girly car.

The point I am making, is that there really aren't that many Scion TC's being driven by privateers that are winning. You are trying to make me sound crazy for saying it is not a car you see every day at a race track. There are probably a handful of these that are completely track prepped and driven by non toyota/scion affiliated privateers. I am not saying it can't be done, but there are not that many TC's on track. |

Secondly, just because you don't see that many, has no bearing on the capability of the car itself. It's just the demographic is largely about the lifestyle than the performance, so you will see more of the lifestyle than you will see that many at the track. Where I'm from, I've seen them hit the tracks and do really well. And then of course there are vids on Youtube of guys chasing down cars that you would think they wouldn't be able too...because it's a Scion tC as people would say (whatever that is suppose to mean). |

At 8psi a tC makes between 280-300whp/300wtq depending on the dyno. And don't start talking about getting used cars to beat the price point...of building a NEW tC. The 2005 tC isn't new any more either and a used SRT-4 ACR is probably still more expensive than a used tC and tossing a bolt-on turbo setup. Now I'm not stating it's a better car than an Evo, STI, S2k...or whatever. Just saying it's not as slow as you think it is. |

Second, an evo 9 with a tune and bolt ons is in the 330 whp ballpark while e85 tuned ones are over 400 whp. This would absolutely destroy a 300 whp tC in a drag race. Third, put that tC on a road course and the evo would beat it even worse. It can actually put its power down, has a much better chassis, brakes, steering, balance, and can accommodate much wider tires. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |

Ummm so I am a *female* tC owner and I love it when I see an FR-S. I know my car has no comparison...so I wouldn't even try to be obnoxious about it on the road. But yes, I feel that tC's AREN'T a guy's car...I just don't see them as masculine vehicle.
For instance, my little brother will be getting his license in a few months...I would love to give him my Scion as his first car, since I owned it for a few years already. However, when I really think about it - I rather NOT put him in such a girly vehicle. He doesn't seem to mind but at the end of the day, I think I will give it to my sister since she is next in line for a car. I rather see him in a small truck or something. Am I crazy? Or doing him a favor...lol
