The roof is 0.6mm thick steel and not aluminum.

I dunno about all that but I once tried to catch a peanut M&M in my mouth that a friend tossed and it hit one of my incisors and oh man did it hurt. Sorry that's all I got for ya.

But if you are for real I greatly fear falling acorns.

No worries. Always good to question sources. The two part Subaru BRZ development video describes the different grades of steel used for the various parts of the car. The 0.6mm part I got from Nino Karotta in the "From Barcelona to Budapest" video.

Crap. The more I think about the roof being steel the less I think that's right. Where's my magnets?

Edit: If you're watching the Nino video you wanna watch around the 10:02 mark.

Okay I tried this because I didn't believe it. Unless you managed to shoot a skittle out of a gun or your brother threw it 100 feet in the air I don't think it was the skittle. I do have a nice ding in my hood from an acorn which fell from about 40 feet up, but its significantly larger than a skittle...

60% as thick as a stamped receiver AK-47. That should be enough to handle some skittle action if less than double can handle the pressures of a firearm.

I vote for "dent was already there".

so question for you guys with dents in the hood. Basically, is it safe to say if i live in an area where there's acorns, i should expect the hood to get dented because of the weaker aluminum?

If it were M&M's the shell would have cracked to expend the engergy and thus have less impact on your roof.

There have been reports of acorns falling from trees and squirrels throwing acorns at the twins leaving dents too.
i always thought the squirrels liked the car! haven't encountered
that ...yet!..maybe they just wanted to go for a ride, and were alerting
you to that?

The hood is aluminum and dents easily. It's basically a big soda can. Same thing on my WRX. Even then I don't think a Skittle would dent it unless that guy who jumped from space accidentally dropped it.
