Experienced rough idle today on my way back from work.
When coming to a stop the LED DRL blinked off and then right back on when the car was on the verge of stalling approx 500 RPM.
After 10 minutes of driving and using the paddle shifters; the car all of a sudden idled fine again.

No CEL or TC light yet.

Called the sales rep today right when I got home; going to see if it happens again tomorrow...

I installed my INJEN intake, idle was rough. Never had an issue before with my stock intake = / Only installed my intake a few days ago, also I resetted the ECU. Think I should install back the stock intake? Or drive it for a couple days? And let the ECU readjust?

It's not the intake, I have it on mine also. More than likely a cel about to happen like the rest of us. I also immediately thought " must be the intake".

After idle drop, cel, then read everyone here had asme issue.

Picking up mine tomorrow after a few days, ecu swapped should be good now.

Hey Stav,

How quickly was the issue resolved for you? When did you first contact scion? Any recommendations on how to deal with the service folks?

After two months, I took my BRZ into the dealer Thursday at 8:00am. They had technicians from SOC in house and replaced my ECU. I was skeptical that this would fix the issue but can confirm that with over 400KM on the new ECU car seems to be running fine. No CEL, not idle issues...Still curious how only "some cars" need this different ECU...If we all have the same mechanical parts should tuning not be the same as well?

In the process of running the 400KM since picking the car up we had some pretty wet weather and I now have condensation in both tail lights. Subaru is telling me this is normal, and they are not going to replace unless there is water pooling inside them. Has anyone else been told this? Lastly, my window switches are blinking...like the auto light in the switch is actually blinking and I can't raise or lower the passenger side window from the driver seat controls... not impressed at this point. I've pressed the window lock button and has no effect. Something else is causing the window issue.

Did you have the intake still on when you went to drop if off at the dealership? Or did you swap it back out to stock? Right now, I'm having no idle issues, the first few days I did with the intake. I'll keep watching it though.

For the windows, scroll the window all the way down and all the way back up. This should fix it until it screws up again.

Toyota Canada has a TSB for tail light condensation. I've already had one replaced. It's NOT normal.

It's amazing what dealerships will say is 'normal' these days.

Ya dealerships love saying problem/issues are normal don't fall for it, tell them your friend's BRZ/FRS had the same problem and another dealership replaced it. if I was working/owned a dealership I would say that too lol NOTHING IS OUR FAULT GO AWAY! lol

No, left intake, exhaust on. They know it's not the intake or exhaust when so many cars reported the issue. Intake and exhaust do not void warranty...... I dealt with Jerry @ Mississauga Toyota/Scion really knew his stuff, every issue, forum posts, all technical papers. Had dropped of car for less then a day new ecu in cars perfect again.

This is EXACTLY what they told me too!... Now I am even MORE eager to get those tail lights pooled up because of these lazy asses... SERIOUSLY.

They also told me that these tail lights have "special" vents that let the condensation out after a while...I mean, who are you trying to fool??
Even my god damn LED DRL has condensation in them!...

P.S. Does anyone have the TSB for the condensation of the tail lights from Subaru?
