And it didn't solve the problem it says.
Then what the hell did solve it? New ECU?
Mechanical parts made no difference. Reflash ECU made no difference. New ECU was the fix (so far).

So here's a question: it's been said numerous times that some dealers reflashed and other replaced the ECU, depending on whether they had the equipment to reflash. I don't recall seeing any mention of the ECU itself being faulty, but TurnOne's case suggests that might be the case (or they screwed up the reflash lol). Does anyone know anything about that?

With this problem not resolved yet, should I wait until it's fixed until I buy an frs?

I had reflash this week, if you don't here from me this weekend then it fixed mine, if I'm on the side of 95 with cell service, you'll hear from me sooner.

If you have dropped a code, I would say bring it in. If not, they will prolly blow you off until a code shows up.

If you have doubts, don't buy. Other people can't tell you what you should do, you have to decide for yourself.

I Understand Where He's Coming From, I'm In The Same Boat. My Whiteout FR-S Id Supposed To Be Here In November And I've Lost A Lot Of The Excitement I Had When I Ordered It Because Off All The Problems. Look at the bright side. If you have problems, you will get a loaner and some free shit from Scion. If you don't have problems you will have a great car.

I bought two now, despite having the problem with the first one. Now I have a silver FR-S and Blue Limited BRZ. FR-S may get lemon'd if Claytone doesn't offer me something big. If he does, I'll keep both. I have a kid in college who would love to have a 2 year old FR-S when he graduates.

True. My only concern would be the fact that I travel quite a lot for work. When I pick it up the first trip it will see will be about 800 miles one way. I would hate for it to act up somewhere in the middle of that trip as it would be through eastern Oregon, Idaho, and Utah(lots of desolate areas to get stranded)

Oh, and +1 to the cool dad thing, hope my kid likes cars as much as I do when he's that age.

Minority of people having trouble. Majority of those troubles, just keep the cruise control from working and keeps you from turning off traction control. It is very unlikely to leave you stranded. Only a couple of reports of fire or blown engines. I think you will be fine.
