I agree with you. However, in a way, I'm glad to see a new ECU was installed. I would have doubted the fix if they swapped out my 811 with another one that was 811 (which didn't work for me). Let's hope there isn't an 813 in the near future.

update: #81

10/12 picked up car today after field tech flashed ecu. Had a good 30 mile run from dealer to work (late late late) no idle dips, no cel pop up.

Have emergency trip to CT sat night-mon so that will be a good 1k miles to make sure all is well.

I am curious if I was in limp mode the whole damn time I had the car cuz it feels way faster...but then it first happened @ 70 miles so I really don't have anything to compare limp against.

Fuel pump on back order for chirping...least of my problems, meh.

they washed my car and their rag must have been filthy because there are friggin light scratches all over her!!!! (pick your battles right?)

will give final update mon. Hope this is fixed for good but we will see.muaaahahahah

I drove mine on a 1,200 mile trip right after I bought mine, it's a great long distance car.

Also, your engine will be broken in and you can really enjoy the car!

I must say I would never let a dealer wash my car (since its black) they don't know what they are doing!

oh I broke it in, made sure the two times I had it I put at least 500 miles on it each time. Was painful to do in limp mode most of the time...but it will be a fun ride

I was not so awake @ 7:45 when I called so it really didn't register. I will make future note not to allow that

So, I just checked my ECU (not easy to do), and it's a completely new version. I started off with an 810, then moved to an 811, now I have an 812. Sorry for the bad pic - it isn't easy to capture. I found it easier to just stick my phone up there, video a bunch of stuff, and capture it when the ECU came in sight

The new ECU ends in 812 - not sure if this has been posted.

It's behind the glove box. You need to lay down in the foot well, and look up. It's hard to see. Use a flash light. You can also see it, if you open the glove box and look in the far right corner.

Like I said earlier, it's almost easiest to use a smart phone and run your video. Move your phone around in the vicinity, and eventually you'll get footage of the ECU. Once you have the footage, just take a screenshot while the video is paused.

Car has returned home

Update: I finally got my car back today. Dealer didn't call, but Clayton from Scion called me. I called dealer to verify. Cars seems to be running good but doesn't sound as quiet as the BRZ I compared it to when I got home.

The good:
The car idles steady.
They fixed the missing chips on front of car.
Car seems to run good overall.
Car now qualifies for the Lemon law in Ohio with 2 weeks to spare.

The bad:
Small dent in front quarter panel.
Noticed crickets. Stopped and filled up with premium Shell V-power and seems to have quieted down.
Car had 90+ miles more than when I dropped it off.
Car had less fuel in it than when I dropped it off.
Car took 6 weeks and 3 days to fix.
ECU isn't even listed on the worksheet. Per dealer, they didn't order so no part # on the sheet. I looked and it ends with 812. Behind glove box. Hard to see, even harder for some reason on the BRZ.
RTV rubber bits laying around under the hood, obviously didn't clean it.

Clayton better have the best offer ever or it will be Lemon'd.

Yeah I have my dealer one day to get it all the warranty stuff fixed or I was going to lemon it. Took 10 hours but they got it all done.

I would be pissed as hell about the dent more than anything else. If you arent getting a lip kit, wheels and extended warranty I would lemon the car.

At least you got an invoice. I never got an invoice for my repair nor did they ever tell me the codes that were thrown when the CEL happened.
